2012 PONY EXPRESS TOURNAMENT (Rocky Mountain Classic)

Styxx, Stars-App, Warriors win Pony Express Tournament

After 217 games, the 2011 Colorado Pony Express Rocky Mountain Classic is in the record book.

18U Division: The Styxx came back in the final game to beat the Stampede - Mike Day 8 to 0. The Stampede Elite, out of the loser’s bracket set up the extra championship game by beating the winner’s bracket winner Styxx 7-5. The Triple Crown Stars Red finished third losing to the Styxx in the winner’s bracket final 9 - 0, then losing to the Stampede Elite in the loser’s bracket final 11 - 2.

 

16U Division: the Co. Stars Applehans put on an offensive show of power, scoring 47 runs in their four bracket games to win the 16U division easily. The Comets Beavers finished second. The TC Stars and Xplosion finished third.

 

14U Division: the Warriors – Hutton also put on an offensive show, scoring 39 runs in their four bracket games but had to squeak by the Firebirds 3 to 2 in their semi-final game. The Co. Stars – Lindstrom finished second, losing to the Warriors 16 – 9 in the championship game. The Firebirds and Rebels 96 finished third.
