COLORADO HARD-AT-WORK-KIDS (HAWKS): HAWKS - News
Davis, Paige, Robinson, Coleman and Conway all STAND OUT at Best Buy Mile High Classic!!!
De'Ron Davis, 6'8", 2016, PF, Colorado Hawks 15s/Overland (CO) - While middle school basketball players are not normally covered on this site, Davis is an exception and has excelled against high school players for some time. A nationally elite big man, Davis continues to add to his game, which is scary because he still hasn't started attending high school. His range on his shot now extends to almost the 3-point line, and he has developed his handle to go hand-in-hand with his post game. While he struggled physically at times against 2015 standout Henry Ellenson, his athletic gift also shined through. When other national talent evaluators catch Davis in action, he will blow up. Until then, remember where you read about him first.
Jeremiah Paige, 6'3", 2014, PG/SG, Colorado Hawks 16s/Rangeview (CO) - With Wyoming, Colorado, Colorado State, and many others keeping a close eye on his game, Paige presents as a lithe but explosive combo guard. He has great intangibles, and is a worker on the floor. his bounce is legitimate, and he is a slasher/penetrator with the ball. At times, he showed signs of running a team as a lead guard, though his greatest instinct is to score with the ball in his hands.
Tyree Robinson, 6'5", 2014, SF/PF, Colorado Hawks 16/Denver East (CO) - It's true, he doesn't have a defined position on the floor, but Robinson's energy and great athleticism draw attention. He is a tweener right now, and will need to grow in order to be an effective power forward in college. He showed the ability to handle a bit, near the hoop, and on the defensive end demonstrated shotblocking instincts. Though nationally touted point guard Dominique Collier draws most of the attention for Denver East, Robinson played very well on Saturday and was the catalyst that allowed the squad to slip by The Force in the first round of tournament play.
Alex Coleman, 6'7", 2014, PF, Colorado Hawks 16s/Kennedy (CO) - Terrific outside shooter, moves well as a face-up forward and has a chance.
Austin Conway, 5'9", 2015, PG, Colorado Hawks 15s/Overland (CO) - With an extra burst and knack for getting to the hoop, Conway had good decision making and is a steady point prospect.
