Dudzic Memorial for CNS Wrestling Acheivements Donations in the memory of John Dudzics father were made to the Booster Club, per the Dudzic Familys request. A suggestion was made to use the funds to install picture frames in the CNS Wrestling Room with pictures of the 13 Sectional Place Winners and possibly some additional CNS Wrestling Historical pictures to motivate future wrestlers. A plaque would be attached that the Memorial for CNS Acheivements was constructed with donations made in memory of Johns father with a picture of Michael and John Dudzic CNS Wrestling Newletter May 2005 by Joe Raulli BOOSTER CLUB MEETING AND FAMILY COOKOUT: The next Booster Club meeting will be on Saturday, May 21st. The meeting will be at Coach Bigford's house at 4:30 PM and followed by a family cookout at 5:00 PM. Those interested in attending should bring a plate to pass and should RSVP to Denise Harrington at 458-2426. It would be appreciated if you could RSVP by May 14th. Everyone who can possibly attend is urged to do so. It's a great opportunity to see what the Booster Club is all about and to enjoy a cookout with others from the CNS Wrestling Program after the meeting. SUMMER FUND RAISING: The Booster Club is planning on running a food concession at three fishing tournaments this summer. The fishing tournaments are all at Oneida Shores Park. The fishing tournament dates are 6/24 & 6/25, 8/20 & 8/21, and 9/15, 9/16 & 9/17. The food concession will sell hamburgers and hotdogs. We will need six people at the concession stand from approximately 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM each day. We will confirm the times the concession should be open each day. If you could possibly help for a couple of hours on any of those days please let us know. You can send an email to Joe Raulli at jsr_4@msn.com or call at 420-6833. The car wash, chicken BBQ, and car wash will be held at Cicero Elementary School on Saturday, June 11th. The car wash will be from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the waterslide will be 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM, and the chicken will be ready by noon. Volunteers are needed. If you can donate any of you time to help with this event, it will be greatly appreciated. Again, please send and email to Joe Raulli if you can help. Although the wrestling season is not until the winter, the summer presents some great opportunities for fund raising. During the summer it is possible to schedule the type of fund raising events that are fun and very profitable. By scheduling these events during the summer, we can minimize the amount of fund raising that the team has to do during the wrestling season. So please participate. The last Booster Club Meeting was held on April 18th, and the following summarizes the points of discussion. The complete meeting minutes were attached to Coach Bigford's last email. The Booster Club budget will be prepared during the August meeting. The CNS Athletic Department has indicated that they will be providing funds for new modofied and varsity singlets, transportation to all matches and tournaments, and the reconditioning of one mat for the 2005/2006 season. The Modified Team fundraiser collected $880. One proposed use for these funds was for new warm-up for the Modified Team. Discussed the possibility of the Booster Club obtaining a tax exempt certificate. The club would have to become incorporated and the cost could be approximately $2,000. Tim Dyer is checking with an attorney and will get the necessary details to further evaluate the options. One possibility would be to incorporate with the youth club. Coach Bigford submitted a request for the team to be included in the 1000 Island Tournament, but we are currently 6th on the waiting list. We must find out the date of the tournament and see who is interested in attending. The Booster Club may possibly have a concession at the Cicero Festival
