The fields are quiet now, but we're gearing up for the 2010 season!!
CLL Winter Newsletter
Spring Registration - Online beginning January 1st!!!
This year CLL is changing its player registration process. We've selected a new registration database vendor, Youth Leagues USA, and are moving exclusively to an online process.
For 2010 you will still be able to register via our website or in person, but two main things will change:
1) You can pay by credit card online or opt to mail in a check after the online registration has been completed.
2) We will only have two in-person registration sessions. If you choose to come to an in-person registration, you will have to enter all information via a CLL provided laptop. You will either pay online or pay by check at the session. No paper registration forms will be available.
Our in-person registration dates will be Saturday, January 30, 2010 from 10am to 4pm at the Holiday Inn Express Brandermill and Saturday, February 6, 2010 from 10am to 3pm at the Clover Hill Library. We will email reminders throughout January and February. The online registration link will be active as of January 1st....please visit our website and watch for reminder emails!
Important Information – Spring Manager/Coach/ Umpire/Team Parent Registration
This year CLL is changing its Manager/Coach/Umpire/Team Parent registration process. We’ve selected a new registration database vendor, Youth Leagues USA, and are moving exclusively to an online process. For 2010, if you are interested in being a Manager, Coach, Umpire or Team Parent, you will be required to apply/register online. The online form will capture the equivalent LL Volunteer information and capture your County Background Check card number, but you will still need to submit a copy of your driver’s license (details will be in the form).
You may register online or you may come to either of the two player registration sessions to register via CLL provided laptop, or to submit the copy of your driver's license. No one can be considered for a Manager, Coach, Umpire or Team Parent position or be permitted to perform the role without completing this process. The online registration link will be active as of January 1st...please visit our website and watch for reminder emails!

Richmond Flying Squirrels
Fundraiser Info
As you’ve hopefully heard by now, Richmond has a replacement for the Braves, the AA Richmond Flying Squirrels! The team is engaging with all local Little Leagues and is offering an immediate fundraising opportunity for CLL. As you can imagine, the Squirrels are working hard to promote the team and get folks excited for the season with new merchandise, available now before the holidays. December 14th has been designated Chesterfield Little League Day. 10% of all merchandise sold at their brand new merchandise store, located at the Diamond, will be donated to CLL!!! This is a great opportunity to get the hottest baseball gear in town, plus your purchase on that day helps our league. Please come out to the Diamond and support the Squirrels and CLL! We will also be working with Squirrels for a ticket fundraiser in the spring, having the new mascot at Opening Day, and even having Squirrel players come to CLL to assist with a spring clinic if possible. Stay tuned!
Chesterfield Little League is looking for volunteers

It takes a lot of volunteers to make sure that our children have a great year. This league is rich in parents with both experience and abilities that can make this a rewarding time for all of our children. An easy way for you to help is to volunteer to serve on one of the many committees created to help the League have a smooth, organized season. Even if you can only help once for a few hours, we can use your help. Due to County cutbacks, we have a huge need for field maintenance volunteers!! Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Kim Britton (kbritton2@yahoo.com), or VP Operations, Sandy Harrington (kraizefan@comcast.net) if you are interested in assisting CLL.
Opportunities include, but are not limited to:
Opening Day, Fundraisers, Field Maintenance, Tournaments, Sponsorship, Coach/Player Development, Team Parent, Uniform Distribution/Sales, Registration/Skills Assessments

Chesterfield Little League strives to develop the baseball knowledge, abilities and sportsmanship of Chesterfield County youth, and instill in them a love for the game of baseball that lasts a lifetime. And although each new season the ‘Journey’ must begin again, as an organization we will strive to build upon the foundations of baseball fundamentals and new friendships that Little League Baseball develops year by year.
