WELCOME TO COUGAR ATHLETICS!
A message from the Athletic Coordinator . . . .
Dear Student and Parent (s),
The Clay Intermediate Center Athletics Department would like to extend
an invitation to all students to participate in the many
interscholastic athletic programs offered. We believe that the mental,
physical, and emotional growth of a student can be greatly enhanced by
participating in a well-organized sports program.
The Clay Intermediate Center Athletic Handbook is designed to inform
each of you of valuable information relating to participation in
interscholastic sports at Clay Intermediate Center. Please feel free to
contact me if you have any questions.
PLEASE READ all of the handbook before signing and returning the parent
& student consent and emergency medical information sheet found on
the back cover. Your signature indicates that each of you has read,
understands, and will abide with the policies as stated. Concerns
regarding policies should be addressed before there is a problem.
We are counting on the support of parents and students involved in our
athletics program as we assume the tremendous joint responsibility for
the education of your child. We need the support of all parents in
reinforcing that academic responsibilities come first and that each
student-athlete must learn to manage his/her time, energy, and talents
in such a way as to excel in the classroom as well as athletics.
I would also like to ask you to consider becoming a Cougar Athletic
Patron. Donations from patrons will provide a major portion of the
funds to operate the athletics program since tax revenues cannot be
used for most athletic expenses. Your support will be greatly
appreciated by all the student-athletes at Clay Intermediate Center.
The Clay Intermediate Center Athletics Department is here to serve the
students and parents of this community. Please let us know when we can
be of assistance to you.
Sincerely,
Tracy Matlock-Lesher, AC
