She was also named First Team All-State, joined by her teammate, Hunterdon Central setter Emily Drew, who was recognized on the Third Team All-State.

Jennison and Drew were also both listed as First Team All-Group 4. Bridgewater setter Jill Prusarczyk and Hunterdon Central libero Charlotte Fischer, also CJVA alumni, were recognized as Second Team All-Group 4.

Lauren Westervelt & Hana Sawanobori of the 17 Rage, and Libby Rynar & Terri Li of the 17 Fury were listed to the Third Team All-Central Jersey. Anna Spellman, a new addition to the Black Rage, and Amanda Moskowitz, the returning setter for the 16 Code Black, were listed to Second and Third Teams All Non-Public for their contributions to the success of Kent Place.

The Team of the Year for Central Jersey was North Hunterdon, who lost only two matches all season, and also boasts nearly 30 CJVA players between their varsity, JV, and freshman teams. HealthQuest and CJVA Partner Together

HealthQuest Family Fitness Center is serving up a volleyball “strength and conditioning program” for Central Jersey Volleyball Academy.

This program, designed specifically for CJVA by Tony Tierno Director of Fitness and Human Performance, N.D., C.P.T., C.S.N., will incorporate core and strength training, with emphasis on plyometrics, proper techniques for accelerating and decelerating and proper sports nutrition. “Our program, unlike other programs, incorporates the most advance techniques available.  We focus on all aspects of their training to produce a more advanced athlete and thereby results in maximum performance.”

CJVA, a premier volleyball facility, located in Flemington, has been utilizing HealthQuest’s sports center as a satellite practice facility since November.  Andrea Salazar, Director of Player Development at CJVA, views the partnership as a sound investment for her players’ futures.  "I really like how the program was built to mimic the movements of volleyball specifically, and the conditioning program will benefit the teams in regards to the girls’ performance, Salazar said. With this new joint venture we hope to help form a more complete and better prepared athlete. With the aide of the staff at HealthQuest, that dream is closer to becoming a reality. We are looking forward to a very exciting season!”

The eight-week program starts January 9th and runs through February 24th.  For more information contact Healthquest at 908-782-4009 X244 or Central Jersey Volleyball Academy 732-369-3226.

Team to Watch...

With a new-found confidence and team camaraderie, Bridgewater-Raritan’s young squad is poised for success. With only one starter back (junior outside-hitter Elizabeth Rynar) from the 2010 season, Romanak believes the seven new additions and each player’s all-around contributions will continue to strengthen the team as it grows with experience. Newcomers include opposite Lauren Haggerty, libero Ariel Schwalb, outside hitter Julie Lee, setter Jill Prusarczyk, middle blockers Samantha Murphy and Emily Williard, and defensive specialist Alexis Tosti. Bridgewater-Raritan’s ability to find strength at any position on the floor at any point in a match has helped it to already match its victories from last season when it was 6-17.
