Lady Eagles Roll On Again!
This past Tuesday night (May 7, 2002), the Lady Eagles defeated the Tadmore Tornadoes by a score of 13 to 0. Another dominating pitching performance by Terri striking out 8 batters - and some good defense in the field. The bats came alive with a home run from Kasey and a triple from Sam. Great win girls! Lets keep it rolling!

Lady Eagles Beat Wauka Mountain Wonders
The Lady Eagles beat the Wauka Mountain Wonders today (5/14/02) by a score of 16 to 5. Today we had great pitching from Terri and Kasey did great in her first relief performance! We had some girls out sick and playing sick, so we had to make some fielding adjustments, and the girls did great! The bats were there tonight as well with Annie B leading the way with a home run! The Lady Eagles are on a roll and are really playing well right now! Great game girls!

Lady Eagles Beat By Lula Angels
The Lady Eagles were beaten by the Lula Angels by a score of 9 to 6 tonight (5/16/02). I think that normally we could have beaten this team, but we had 3 players playing sick, Terri was out sick, and Britt and Kimmie had other obligations. This left us 1 player short which basically meant that every 10th batter was an automatic out. Well we have an off night Tuesday and our next game is next Thursday night with one make up game the following week. After that it is All Stars.

2002 ALL STAR TEAM
animatedpitcher2
The 2002 All Star Team includes girls from both the Lady Eagles and Lady Wildcats. They are Nicole, Brooke, Terri, Candice, AC, Ada, Kasey, Stephanie, Nikki, Fallon, Anna, and Britt. The Head Coaches are Quint Morris and James Martin. Assistants are Craig Stafford, Tom Bower, and Jerry Armour. Practice began today (Saturday May 25th), and we did pretty good. Hopefully we will be able to gel the girls from both teams and come up with a championship formula.

As always, I will be keeping pictures and updates on this site. Click on the headline above to go to the photo album. Sign the guestbook and let the girls know what you think.

Lady Eagles Season Ends With A WIN!!!
P5280014Cake
The Lady Eagles ended the regular season with a win over rival Wauka Mountain Rebels by a score of 14 to 10. Kasey pitched a great game and the offense was there with home runs by Anna B and Terri.

Also, after the game, we had pizza, cake, cookies, drinks, and trophies. Some pictures of this fun can be seen by clicking on the headline above.

It has been an up and down season - we usually won big, but lost a few by a run. Either way, I think the girls played great, learned a few things, and had a little fun. Way to go girls!

All Star "Dirt Girls" Looking Good!
P6040001DirtSmall
The All Star team has been working hard and it is really starting to pay off. The girls are starting to gel and are beginning to understand what it takes to build a team. It means being at practice on time and working hard. It means playing an unfamiliar position and working hard to improve. It means having a good attitude. It means having fun. We will have another practice (light) this Thursday night at 6:30, and then the first game will be Friday night (June 7th, 2002) at 8:30 and we will meet the winner of the earlier played McEver-Chestnut Mountain game.

Friday, June 7
ALL STARS WIN GAME 1!
The Lady Eagles/Wildcats All Star team won game 1 of the tournament tonight (6/7/02) by a final score of 9 to 8 over Chestnut Mountain. Down 5 to 0 after the first inning, Terri's pitching came to life, the hitting came alive, and the defense came to life highlighted by a spectacular catch in the outfield by Kasey that closed out an inning that saw Chestnut Mountain on the move. Tied 8 to 8 in the bottom of the final inning, the bases were loaded with 1 out and Annie B up to bat and she hit a single that drove in the winning run! Great game girls! Next game vs. Oakwood tomorrow at 11:30 at Laurel Park.

Saturday, June 8
ALL STARS WIN GAME 2!
The Lanier All Stars defeated the Oakwood All Star team (Saturday 6/8/02) today by a score of 21-10. However, this could have been a much different game. We jumped ahead in the top of the 1st inning by a score of 17-0...then we held on to keep the win. Give Oakwood credit for not giving up! Great hitting by all of the girls including a home run by Annie and a pair of triples by AC. Also, AC pitched a great game before Terri came in for the save. Also, we had some good defensive plays including an unassisted double play by Terri at SS. However, we had WAY too many errors. But you cannot be too disapointed with the win. Next game Monday night at 8:30 at Laurel (be there at 7:30).

Monday, June 10
ALL STAR GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP GAME BOUND!
The Lanier All Stars clinched a spot in the championship game this Thursday night by defeating Spout Springs tonight (Monday 6/10/02) by a final score of 20 to 8. The bats were on fire. We still made some mistakes in the field. All of their runs were made after 2 outs. Terri pitched solid and AC came in and struck out the side in relief to get the save! Great game girls! We now are off until this Thursday. Get rested and ready to play for the Championship!

ALL STAR GIRLS "REFUSE TO LOSE"
P6130010CHAMP
The Lanier All Star Girls Softball team consisting of girls from both the Lady Eagles and Lady Wildcats are the new County Champions!!!!!!

Being in a double elimination tournament, and going against the Chestnut Mountain Warriors, we only had to win 1 of 2, but knew it would be tough going. In game 1, a combination of bad calls as well as some untimely errors led to a 12 to 10 loss.

Game 2 would be a different story...except for the first couple of innings. Again, some questionable calls really hurt. I usually don't say too much to the umps, but I had to say a few words to the ump in the field regarding some of his calls at first. Later, a ball was hit right down the first base line right over the bag, and we had 2 runs come in...but it was called a foul ball. A disagreement began between James and the Ump. After the disagreement was over, James called time and did some cleaning of the base to try and help the Umps. The game continued to be close with the girls taking a 6 to 4 lead into the top of the fourth when another questionable call went the wrong way. It was at this point that Quint had enough...after a quick exchange of pleasantries, Quint was ejected and left the field. The girls pulled together, played some great defense and started hitting the ball, and won by a final score of 13 to 8 for the championship!!!

Great pitching from AC. Great fielding from Terri. Way to play 3rd Brooke! Nicole played tough at Catcher. Way to strech for the ball at first Annie. Good catch Nikki....well I think you get the picture. We could have given out 12 game balls tonight!

Pictures I have taken are in the Album. Look them over and let me know if you think the girls enjoyed themselves. Click on the headline above to see them!

GREAT SEASON GIRLS!!!!!

Lady Eagles Win Opener!
This past Tuesday night (4/16/02), the Lady Eagles defeated Mt. Vernon by a score of 17 to 3. The Lady Eagles dominated the first 3 innings of the game with a 9 up 9 down pitching performance by Terri (5 strikeouts). The offense was there too with some great hitting from Ada, Terri (home run), and Lizzie (home run). Kasey came back from an injured arm and played some great ball as well. Hopefully, we can keep this going for the rest of the season!

Friday, April 19
Lady Eagles Fall To Riverbend
The Lady Eagles fell to Riverbend this past Thursday (4/18/02) by a score of 12 to 11. The girls had a problem with the fundamentals of catching and throwing. Hopefully with a little practice over the next few days, we will be able to turn this around.

Tuesday, April 23
Lady Eagles Beat Lady Dogs
The Lady Eagles came back from a 9 to 5 deficit tonight (Tuesday 4/23/02) to shut down the Lady Dogs for the final 2 innings to win by a score of 10 to 9. A good outing pitching by Terri. Some great plays in the field by Britt, Fallon, Lizzie...great catching tonight by Kasey...and a very good defensive play by Terri - taking a ball off of the side of her face and still making the play at third. We were down by 1 run going into our final at bat. We had runners at 2nd and 3rd with no outs. Our next batter flies out to third and Lula makes a great play to get our runner out at third. Now we have 2 outs with a runner at 2nd. Fallon walks. We double steal to get runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs. Sammie connects with a hard hit to third that almost takes her glove off. 2 runs score...Lady Wildcats win!!!

Sunday, April 28
Lady Eagles BEAT by White Sulphur Gold
The Lady Eagles were beaten today (Thursday, April 25th) by the White Sulphur Gold team by a score of 8 to 7. This is a game we should have won. However, if you don't catch good, don't make good throws, don't listen to the coach when he is giving signals, or don't care, then you are not going to win. Not every girl on the team played like that, but the ones who did hurt the team. These girls had better decide real soon if they want to win ... or just don't care.

Tuesday, May 7
Lady Eagles Post STRONG Win
After such a dreadful outing, the Lady Eagles came back with a very strong pitching game from Terri and an outstanding hitting and running game from the rest of the team to defeat the Lady Panthers of White Sulphur this past Thursday (May 2, 2002) by a score of 19 to 0! The girls were really into the game and played with much more conviction than the past week. Lets keep up this fun attitude and atmosphere and we will be hard to beat!

WHAT IS GOING ON???
2003 Team Pic
A lot of people who have followed the team for the last several years asked what happened? Did you have a team in 2003? You guys were the champs in 2002, runners up in 2001...just a history of winning. What's going on? Well, to make a long story short - and a lot of you know what I am talking about - I took a new job and just did not have time to keep the site up. However, in 2003, we did have a team. We moved up into the 14 and under bracket with a team of 12-13 year olds. This was also our first year of true fastpitch. We had "rookie" pitchers and it showed. We entered a tournament in Toccoa Georgia, and found out right quick (after losing 3 games in a row) that we had a way to go. We finished the season winning more games that we lost and even went into our championship series being put out by the eventual champion by a final score of 3 to 2. If not for some key injuries late in the season...who knows.

Going into 2004 we have a little more excitement...more to look forward to. We have Terri and AC who have been going to Pitching lessons at All Sports Training for the last month being trained by Beth Pearson. In all we are returning 8 starters from last years team and are adding a couple of girls from the 2002 championship team, a starter from the 2001 runner up, a couple of new players who are just learning softball but are great athletes, and a couple of girls from the J.V. team at the high school. In fact, we will have 6 players from the 2003 JV team that finished 11-5-1 and had a 2nd place finish at the White County tournament.

This year we are basically having 2 teams. First we are going to be entering at least 10 tournaments. That could be any where from 30 to 50 games. Second we are still going to play in our rec league one more year. That will be at least 12 more games. We want that championship.

What's going on??? A lot.

1st Annual STARZZ Classic Tournament
girl batting
This Saturday March 6th, 2004 the team will be traveling to Jefferson Georgia for their first tournament of the year! The games will be at Lamar Murphy Park. I spoke with the tournament sponsor from the GA STARZZ, and he said there are going to be 10 to 14 teams competing. There are going to be some very good teams there including an ISA STATE CHAMPION. Teams competing include the Madison County Rockers, Jefferson Bombers, Granite City Crushers (Elberton), Clash, GA STARZZ, GA Magic, and others. We will be representing Chestatee in this tournament. For information on the tournament and the organization that is putting this tournament on, click on the headline above to link to their site.

Thursday, March 4
GA STARZZ/IRON WOMAN TOURNAMENT
Our first tournament of the year is the Georgia Starzz Classic / Iron Woman Tournament on Saturday March 6, 2004 at Lamar Murphy Park in Jefferson Georgia. Our first game is at 8:00 am against the Georgia Starzz. If we win, our next game is at 1:50 pm. If we lose game 1, our next game will be at 12:30 pm. We will be playing in 3 games minimum.

In order to make sure that everyone arrives at the same time, we are going to meet at Chestatee High School and leave by 6:30 am. This will give us time to arrive at the complex, stretch, and warm up some before the game. Please let one of the coaches know tonight or at tomorrow’s practice if you need a ride.

This is an early game but it is tournament softball. On Friday night, get to bed early. You will need your energy and you can get a little more sleep on the drive down. Be ready for a long and fun day. Parents, bring chairs, umbrellas, towels, etc. Be prepared.

Last, I have set up a feature on our website which will call you automatically with a message informing you of practice changes, cancellations, games, etc. I will need to get your name and the phone number where we can contact you and at least leave the message. Please give this information to Lita or Melody.

If you have any questions, please give me or Coach Martin a call.

First Tournament Over
Our first tournament is finished. Click on the album link to the left to find our tournament photo album. For more pictures (and better ones that I have in the photo album), click on the headline link above to be sent to Skyhawks, or type the following into your web browser: www.skyhawks-digital-pics.com There are some very good pics from our game with the All Sports Nitro.

It was rainy, muddy, cold, and early especially for the first game. The weather got better but our play really didn't.

In the first game we played the GA Starzz. Our pitching was good and the hitting was ok, but we had way too many errors in the first two innings falling behind early 8-0. We held the Starzz scoreless for the next two innings finishing the game behind by a score of 8 to 2.

In game 2, we played the All Sports Nitro. Again our pitching was pretty good and the hitting was there and we jumped ahead 4 to 0. However the defense fell apart again and we lost 8 to 4.

In the third game against the Lady Knights, we were in the game and the pitching finally fell apart. We couldn't pitch a strike. We fell behind 9 to 2. In the final inning we made one last run making it close but falling by a score of 9 to 7.

All in all, this was a much better first tournament than the Toccoa trip last year. However, we have a lot of work to do. We also have got to make sure that the group we take to the tournaments takes things a little more serious. We do this to have fun, but overall we probably had 5 or 6 out of the 13 that took this seriously. Girls, especially when we are in the middle of a game, whether you are playing or not - whether we are winning or losing, it is important that you know what is going on. Don't mess with your cell phone. Don't ask a coach if we are winning. And if we are losing a game, don't be laughing and joking. There is a time and a place for everything...and when we are losing a game, it is not the time to be playing with your cell phone, laughing and joking, and not knowing whether we are winning or losing. It is that simple.

Tournament softball is not easy. It is not for everyone. You have to make up your mind that you want to do it or not.

Tournament 2 This Weekend
NEW
Our next tournament is this Saturday 3/13/04 at Lanier Point in Gainesville. The first game is at 8:00am vs. Bogan Wild. Our second game is at 12:30pm vs. North Gwinnett Thunder. Our third game will be dependent on how well we do in the first two games, but will either be at 5:00pm or 6:30pm.

Coach Martin will have a handout at Thursday's practice. If you have any questions, see Coach Martin or Coach Armour.

Saturday, March 13
St Patrick's Day Tournament
St Patrick Day 8 04
Today we played the St. Patrick's Day tournament in Gainesville, GA and showed a lot of improvement over last week. We finished 1 and 2, but really showed what we can do in the second game against North Gwinnett Thunder winning by a final score of 12 to 3. Terri pitched a great game, got hit by a pitch in the back, then hit a home run! We had some great defense out in the field from Kasey in CF and Courtney in LF. AC made some very good plays from 3rd, Kayla made some awesome plays at short, and Rachel got it done at 2nd. Annie did the job at first and Britt gave us a great game behind the plate.

We are going to keep working hard at practice and we will keep getting better! You worked hard this week at practice and it showed this weekend. We will have 2 weeks of practice before our next tournament in Toccoa. Lets keep it up!!!!!

PS...there are a few more pics in the photo album under St. Patricks Day Tournament.

Thursday, March 18
Toccoa Tournament March 27, 2004
After taking this weekend off, our next tournament will be in Toccoa, GA on March 27, 2004. This was a fun trip last year and I think we will do much better this year. More info to follow!

Wednesday, March 24
Toccoa Tournament Set For This Weekend!
This weekend's tournament games have been set...and we don't have an 8:00 am tournament start game this time. We will be playing as follows:

Game 1 vs. Granite City Crushers (Elberton) 10:00am
Game 2 vs. Southern Threat (Toccoa) 1:00pm
Game 3 vs. Clash 2:30pm
Game 4 vs. Augusta Flash 4:00 pm

If we are one of the top 2 teams we will be in the championship game at 6:00.

The weather is supposed to be great this weekend. Coach Martin will give out more information at Thursday's practice. Last year we learned a lot at this tournament. It is run by some good people! There will be some very good competition up there as well. We have proved that we can hang in there with some very good teams. Lets go up there and play to our best ability and win some games!

Saturday, March 27
TOCCOA TOURNAMENT UPDATE
Toccoa39
Today we traveled to Toccoa Georgia and played in Joe Gailey's Rose Lane ISA tournament. We played against 4 excellent A class teams and the competition was probably the toughest we have ever played against. These teams have been playing fastpitch softball for at least 2 years and have been tournament champions and champions at every level.

We started the morning against a very tough Granite City Crushers team. We started and played the first half of the game very competitive and then we slowed down. The next game was against the Southern Threat - a team that is always tough. We held our own again for most of the game before falling. Next we played the Clarkesville Clash and again held our own before slowing down. However with each game we could see significant improvement.

Game 4 was against a very good Augusta Flash Team. Even though we still lost, we were competitive throughout the game even ending the on a final run that fell short. The coach of the Augusta Flash said that the word at the tournament was we were a first year team - which means that we are an unknown...that we could be dangerous. We almost proved her right.

The umpires have now seen us for 3 tournaments and they told me that the improvement from that first rainy day a month ago in Jefferson is like night and day. They suggested that we just keep playing games. That is how you improve. We intend to do so!

Throughout the game every girl on the team made some very good plays. Terri pitched and played short well. AC pitched an excellent game 4 and did well at 1st and 3rd. Anna P played very good today at 1st base. Rachel did a good job at 2nd. Kayla T made some very good plays at catcher and short. Courtney made some good catches in left field (and got that hit she needed!) Ensley did a good job at both 2nd and right field! Britt, you did a fine job behind the plate!

Stephanie S made some very good plays out in center field. Probably the most improvement of any of the girls since the first of the season! The hard work is really paying off.

To all of the parents and players that came, I thank you. When we were meeting at the school this morning, I didn't even think we were going to have enough players to go play in this tournament. We ended up with 9 - which made it a tough go, but you did great! Ladies, I know this is tough work, but if we keep it up, it will pay off! Throughout all of the ups and downs we had today, the one thing you never did was quit! We are proud of you.

Lady Eagles Win vs. Wauka Mtn Phillies
HOT
Tonight the Lady Eagles defeated the Wauka Mountain Phillies by a final score of 13 to 4. AC pitched a terriffic no hitter. The bats were working when we needed them to. We had some very good base running from everyone - Kasey scored on a walk! Everyone picked up the signs! Stephanie, way to hit that ball girl! It was 38 degrees with the windchill under 30, late (I didn't get home until after 10:00pm), and misting rain but no one complained. Great game ladies! Next game is Thursday April 15th vs. McEver Raiders at 8:00 at Laurel 1. I will have the entire schedule posted soon.

Wednesday, April 14

Lady Eagles defeat McEver Raiders
The Lady Eagles defeated the McEver Raiders tonight by a final score of 13 to 5. Terri pitched a 1 hitter and busted a home run. The defense did a very good job tonight and the bats and base running came alive. Great catch tonight Ensley! Super play at first Anna B. We had a scare when Stephanie was hurt after running around first and sliding into second but she was ok and actually got to go back and hit again. Great job ladies. We will have practice Monday night at 6:00 at the high school to prepare for our coming game next Tuesday night.

Tuesday, April 20
Lady Eagles Defeat Lady Falcons
P4200005ATeam
The Lady Eagles defeated the Flowery Branch Lady Falcons tonight by the score of 14 to 7. We hit and bunted well. We ran the bases well. Terri pitched a 2 hitter. There are some things that we need to work on - and we will. However, I think that you ladies played a great game tonight. Next game Thursday night vs. Chestnut Mountain.

Also as you can see from the picture at left, we look pretty happy after the win. Please look at the banner and take note of all the sponsors we have. Thanks to all of our sponsors for all of your support. The Lady Eagles really appreciate you!

Thursday, April 22
Lady Eagles Beat Chestnut Mountain
Tonight the Lady Eagles beat Chestnut Mountain by a score of 12 to 10. We jumped out to an early 7-0 lead. Then Chestnut Mountain had a very good 3rd inning with some big hits to tie it up at 7. The battle went back and forth with the Lady Eagles finally coming out on top with the win. Again we had some very good base running and pretty good hitting. Super Home Run Nicole! AC pitched a very good game as well. Overall a good team win!

This weekend we will be traveling to Jefferson to play the tournament there. We will meet at the school at 6:30am and leave to play our first game at 8:00. Be ready to play some ball!

Jefferson Tournament Update
Yesterday the Lady Eagles played in a tournament in Jefferson and showed more improvement. In the first game the Lady Eagles lost to the Jefferson Bombers. We just didn't play well. Going next against the Alpharetta Blazers we knew that we had to improve. Luckily we had a 1 1/2 hour break where the ladies were able to catch up on some lost sleep from getting up so early to make the early 8:00 game. It would help.

In game 2 vs the Alpharetta Blazers everything clicked. AC pitched a wonderful game. The bats came alive and the defense was there. We know for our team to be able to compete against these all star teams we have to really be clicking. In the end we won the game 4 to 3.

In Game 3 vs. Lumpkin County Indians, we were back to sleep for the first couple of innings falling behind early. However the last couple of innings were different. We made a comeback late in the game showing heart and determination but finally beat by the final of 10 to 7.

Compared to our first tournament weeks ago, we have improved in obvious proportions. We have got better and will continue to do so. I know it was hot and we were tired, and it didn't help our cause to be without 2 of our regular players, but experiences like this will help condition you for the next game, tournament, or practice, and it makes it easier to handle the situations because you have experienced them. Great job ladies. Next tournament is next week here in Gainesville at the Georgia games. We will update you with information as we get it!

Sunday, April 25

cloud
Tonight's practice has been cancelled due to the rainy conditions and soaked muddy field. Tomorrow's game is still on. Be sure to be at Alberta as close to 5:30pm as you can.

Also if you received more than 1 call from the message cast service, I had an error when I first tried to send and then it went again. Sorry!

Lady Eagles Win A Close One
The Lady Eagles won tonight by a score of 5 to 4 over the Spartans of McEver. AC pitched a good game and we had good hits from Ana P and Rachel. We made some mistakes but overcame them to get the W. As you move on in your softball experience, you will find that there are more 5 to 4 games than 20 to 4. Learning how to win the close ones when everything isn't clicking is the first step toward becoming a consistent winner. Next Game at Candler St (below City Park - up and across from the Girl Scout Building) against Gainesville Red Elephants. Be there at 5:30.

LADY EAGLES BEAT GAINESVILLE
The Lady Eagles beat Gainesville by a final of 14 to 0. Terri came in and pitched 2 innings and allowed 0 hits and had 6 strike outs! The bats came alive tonight as well with another home run from Terri and a monster blast to 1 hop the centerfield fence by AC. Courtney did a good job bunting and running as did Stephanie, Rachel, and Ensley. Ana P popped another good hit tonight. Good job catching Britt. Anna B not too shabby in your first game at 2nd. Kasey came in and struck out 2 in the final inning in her first pitching performance of the year. Nicole, you did much better tonight. Now, lets get ready for practice tomorrow night at 6:00 pm at the high school and the GA Games tournament this weekend!

Georgia Games Update
The Lady Eagles participated in the Georgia Games Softball Tournament in Gainesville this weekend and played very good. On Saturday we lost both games we played against 2 very Good "A" class teams (Granite City Crushers and Georgia Starrz), but we had some of the best individual and team play that we have seen all year.

In game 1 Terri pitched a great game and had a ground rule double when her blast took 1 hop and went over the fence. Britt played very good at catcher and our defense played well. We had a couple of close calls that didn't go our way and misplayed a couple of hits, but we never gave up. That game was the best game 1 we have played since we started tournament ball.

In game 2 AC came in and pitched 1 2/3 innings but had to sit down aftering feeling pain in her shoulder. Cortney P came in and pitched the rest of the game and did a good job. Britt made some awesome plays at 3rd and Terri made a great backhanded stab at SS and threw to 1st for the out. Stephanie made a couple of good catches in LF. Kasey made two awesome catches out in CF that would have blown the game wide open if they had not been made.

Game 3 for Sunday morning was rained out and the tournament was called due to field conditions. This weekend's tournament showed that the Lady Eagles have a lot of potential and the hard work is really starting to pay off. According to one of the GA Starrz coaches, we look like a completely different team than the one he saw that rainy morning in Jefferson 2 months ago. I agree!

Lady Eagles Beat West Hall Spartans
Scary Softball
The Lady Eagles beat the West Hall Spartans 18-0 tonight at Laurel Park. Basically everything went right. Terri pitched great all night and Kasey came in and closed the game out in the last inning. The base running was very good. Everyone caught every sign. We really looked crisp tonight. Also, Anna B had a super shot that went into centerfield. Rachel had the shot of the night with a Home Run right over the centerfielder's head. Great game girls. All of your hard work is really beginning to pay off.

Remember, Thursday's game will be rescheduled due to the Honor's night at the middle school. We will have practice Friday at 6:00pm until 7:30pm. No tournament this weekend, so we will probably have practice on Saturday around 12:00pm...I will let you know for sure at Friday's practice.

INJURY and PRACTICE UPDATE
Medical
As most are aware, AC has not pitched in over a week because of soreness in her shoulder. That is one reason that Kasey has stepped up and pitched in a couple of games. Yesterday at field day at the middle school, we lost another pitcher during a game of volley ball. Terri has suffered a fracture to her arm above the right wrist and will be out for 4 to 6 weeks. According to her doctor, she will be back to normal in about 4 weeks but it would be better to wait a few weeks after that before starting back on her pitching regimin. I have spoke with Coach Martin and since we have lost 2 of our 3 pitchers, we will now be forced to delay any upcoming tournament games until further notice. We will continue playing our rec schedule as well as practices. We will have practice Monday night at the highschool at 6:00. Be there.

A Rained Out Week
cloud
This week we got our practice in Monday, and that is about it. Tuesday's game was rained out. Tonight we were at Alberta just 15 minutes from taking the field when the bottom dropped out. You couldn't even see the field for the water. Well we do need the rain.

Add Courtney M to the injured list. She hurt her arm at school and the doctor told her to take a few days off. She will be ok to play by next Tuesday.

Our next practice is Saturday at 12:00 at the high school. We will also practice Monday night at 6:00 at the high school. Tuesday's game has been cancelled because of other school functions. We are trying to reschedule the games we have missed as well as try to reschedule the other games. We will be playing next Thursday. Also we might possibly practice on Wednesday next week. We will keep you posted.

Also, several of you have asked me if I had any information on the summer workouts, softball camps, etc. Right now I do not have any new information to pass along. As soon as I hear something I will pass it along to you then!

More Injuries
Medical
As everyone knows, we have lost Terri for the next 2-3 weeks, AC is just getting back to form, Courtney hurt her arm at school...etc. Now I find out that Samantha and Kayla were hurt in a 4 wheeler accident over the weekend. Both are scratched and bruised, but will be ok. And Courtney P is injured but will be ok as well. It has been a long time - at least it seems like it - that we played in a tournament...or even a game. Hopefully we will be able to get back on track soon. We do play Gainesville at Candler St. field this Thursday at 6:00pm. Be there at 5:30pm...and be careful between now and then!

Lady Eagles Beat Gainesville
The Lady Eagles defeated Gainesville tonight by a final of 11 to 1. Kasey pitched her first complete game of the year and did a good job.
Our defense played very well highlighted by a catch in center field by Courtney who threw to 2nd for the double play. Anna B made several good plays at 2nd tonight. Other highlights include Britt losing her shoe in the mud in right field and Terri playing with a cast on her arm (2 bunts and 2 runs scored).

We finish our regular season undefeated in our league. We have had a great year and have come a long way. We will have the weekend off then practice Monday at the high school at 6:00pm. Week after next is the All Star championships. After that you will begin summer workouts for the JV at the high school. As I said after the game last night - especially for you younger girls, get there as much as you can this summer. It will pay off!

Great Job Ladies!

Lady Eagles Win County Championship!!!!!!!
HOT
Today the Lady Eagles finished undefeated in Hall County winning the championship game vs. McEver by a final of 17 to 5! Every player played well. We had great fielding, great pitching, home runs, a grand slam, stolen bases, squeeze play bunts with bases loaded to score, unassisted double play from the center fielder...etc. Just a great way to end a great season!

Ladies you worked hard all year (since February) and it just paid off with a championship. Thinking back to that first tournament in Jefferson to our win today, I realized just how far you have come. You really looked crisp and I think we have met our goals! You ladies are ready to take the next step.

Have fun at the summer workouts - give Coach Parr as much determination and dedication as you have given this team and you will continue your softball experience in a very positive situation at the high school. Good Luck ladies. Remember, if you ever need anything at all, you can call any of your coaches!

Congratulations Hall County Fastpich Softball Champions!!!!!

Season Ending Party A BLAST!
This past Friday night we closed out a very successful season with a cookout and swim party given by the Montrois family at their home. We had a blast at the cookout with the swimming, boating, and everything else that was going on. A great way to end the year. Thanks for the party!

After the fun and eats, we closed out the year with special trophy and championship certificates going to every player. Every player gave her all throughout the year and the continual improvement proved that the hard work paid off.

It is now time to start summer vacation. After starting practice back in February and playing in over 30 games, I am sure the break will be welcome to some of you. However, several of you are attending the summer softball workouts and will be trying out for the JV. Good Luck! Remember to work hard and keep smiling.

See you in the fall!

Valdosta Softball Camp
UPDATE: 7/13/04 I spoke with Terri today and she said her and Kayla played in both Varsity and JV games today going 2 and 0. So far, both squads have played 5 games each and are both currently 4 and 1. Sounds like the girls are doing real good! One thing she said...everyone is so tired at the end of the day because they are kept so busy! No one even wants to go to the ice machine at the end of the day. Sounds like a great camp!

This past Sunday morning both the Varsity and JV players who have been attending the summer workouts left for softball camp in Valdosta. I don't know that much about the camp other than there will be very intense training and a lot of games. Also, there are teams from Georgia and Florida at this camp. As of today, Coach Parr's ladies were 3 and 1. Not too shabby!

Our team is well represented with Terri, Kayla, Ensley, AC, Nicole, and Stephanie. Two other players - Britt and Rachel were also invited but were unable to go due to summer vacations. Kasey, the team needs you. One new player, Tina (from McEver) is at the camp and is doing well.

I will update as I know more.
