Winners of the Frostbite Special our first tournament!

MOULTRIE — CHAOS, a 16-and-under girls softball team that includes several Colquitt County players, went 5-0 to win the high school division in the Frost Bite Special held Feb. 9 in Milledgeville.
The first game was against Savannah Venom. Casey Thurmond pitched against the Venom. She had a strong outing getting the win with a 5-0 shutout.
Kelsey Jones pitched the second game against the Jazz from Gray. CHAOS was down to the Jazz 2-0 going in to the bottom of the last inning, but fought back in the bottom of the sixth and final inning.
Leah Guajardo, Jones and Aubrey Perryman got hits. Then Jesse Brooks got clutch hit to drive in one run, although one runner was out at third. Then Sara Ray got a hit to load the bases again.
With the bases full with one out, Shaye Meders hit a line drive, walk-off triple to right field to give CHAOS a 3-2 victory.
The next game was against the Ramblerz from Milledgeville. Meders pitched a complete game.
The Ramblerz jump out to a 3-0 lead at the end of the first, but Meders settled down and the team had solid defense.
In the bottom of the second CHAOS scored three runs, with RBIs by Brittany Fore, Meders and Guajardo took a little pressure off.
Then Anna Laura Beason and Meders scored in the fourth with RBIs by Jones and Guajardo and CHAOS won 5-3.
CHAOS advanced to the undefeated game against the Thompson Force.
Jones pitched in this game and was dominant, striking out 10 in four innings with only two reaching base from hits. She only faced 14 batters in the victory.
The victory sent CHAOS to the championship game against the Jazz, which had worked its way back through the losers bracket.
Jones got the start again. The Jazz jumped out again to a 2-0 lead in the first.
In the bottom of the third, Guajardo got on with error by second baseman, and Fore got a hit.
Jones drove Guajardo in, and Fore stole home to tie it up.
