11u Eagles repeat as Boo ball Champs

The 11U Eagles went back to back defending their Boo ball championship from last fall in Snellville at South Gwinnett Park over the weekend. The team put the run rule on their opponents in three of the five contests outscoring them 50-14 in a five game sweep. The Eagles have had another successful season getting their second fall trophy by beating a very good Parkview team 9-1 in the championship game that had been on an 11 game winning streak coming off a tournament win last weekend. The Eagles will play a few more weeks before ending their season with a NIT in Monroe next month.  We will play a GGBL schedule next spring hoping to build on the 12-6 record and the second place finish in our bracket and are planning on heading back to Florida for a world series to improve our third place finish there last July. The Eagles are managed by Landon Boyd with Coaches Dirk Abney, Kevin Jones and John McGee. Team Members are Alaska Abney, Branan McGee, Camden Jones, Chase Everett, Jake Schertell, Jeffery Hill, JoJo Findlay, Michael Albee, Oscar Serratos, Tomas Nadal and Zach Boyd.

10U Eagles win World Series warm up in Cumming

The 10U Eagles are closing out a successful season with some of their best baseball of the year. Recently Collins Hill culminated a successful 12-6 GGBL regular season with a great tournament run ending in the finals of the Dacula bracket losing to eventual champion Shiloh and finishing in the top four for the season. This weekend Coach Landon’s Eagles went undefeated in winning the Longhorns Longball Classic in Cumming. The pitching was outstanding as six players combined to give up only 13 runs and the bats were punishing the opponents for 48 runs. Every team member contributed in a big way as the team did not trail all weekend keeping the pressure firmly on their opponents.  So far this team is a well earned 27-13 and after this successful warm up are heading to Panama City Florida for a season ending World Series that they qualified for by winning a previous tournament at South Gwinnett. The 10U Eagles are coached by: Manager Landon Boyd and assistant coaches Kent Adicks and Dirk Abney. The Roster includes: Alaska Abney, Jason Adicks, Michael Albee, Chandler Black, Zach Boyd, Jon-Michael Findlay, Jeffery Hill, Branan McGee, Ben Mottet, Tomas Nadal and Oscar Serratos. We are very proud of our Players, parents and coaches and are looking forward to having more success in the future.

9U EAGLES WIN SUB STATE IN CUMMING, HEADING TO STATE !

The 9u Eagles played in the USSSA sub state tournament last weekend with hopes of earning a berth to the USSSA state tournament in Conyers.  Not only did they earn a berth, but they came away with the championship!  During Saturday pool play the Eagles went 1-1, defeating the Middle Georgia Moccasins and losing to the Wills Park Scorpions.  Beating Middle Georgia in the first game was a matter of revenge after they beat us in the championship game in Monroe a month earlier.  One of the key factors in the win was the impressive pitching performance by Ben Mottet, who pitched a complete 6 innings with 8 strikeouts while only giving up a handful of hits.  The two games showed some great team hitting and great baserunning, as well as solid defense.
Sunday proved to be a long day with the Eagles having to play three games.  The Eagles beat the Bartow Badgers, Homeplate Chilli Dogs, and Wills Park Scorpions on Sunday to win the championship.  Some of the highlights from the day were Jason Adicks hitting a homerun in the first game against the Badgers, Tomas Nadal stealing home against the Chilli Dogs, and Tommy Coyne throwing out two runners at first from RF in the same game.  Cade Heil had a good day at the plate going 4 for 7 and reaching base 7 out of 9 times.  Matt Edwards, Ben Mottet, Jeffery Hill, Oscar Serratos, and Cade Heil all combined for solid pitching to allow the Eagles to win every game.
In the championship game the Eagles had a rematch against Wills Park Scorpions.  The Eagles trailed 5-0 after the first inning, but didn't drop their heads and fought hard the until the dramatic finish.  The Eagles trailed 5-3 with two outs in the bottom of the 4th inning until Zach Boyd came through with a clutch 2-run single to tie the game.  After the Scorpions went up 7-5 in the top of the sixth, the Eagles tied it back up in the bottom of the inning.  After three amazing defensive plays by Ben, Oscar and Cade to make the Scorpions go 3 up 3 down in the top of the inning, the Eagles came to bat.  Jason got hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, stole second, and Ben sac bunted him to third.  With two out and Jason still on third, Chandler Black came through with game winning single to right field to clinch the championship.  The Eagles will now head to Conyers to play in the State tournament.

9U EAGLES WIN J.B. ATHLETICS SPRING TRAINING BASH IN MONROE, GA
The 9u Eagles won their first tournament of the year in impressive fashion.  During Saturday pool play the Eagles went 2-0.  After beating the Walton Athletics 8-4 and the Perry Red Devils 11-10, the Eagles earned a #1 seed heading into Sunday.  Saturday's games were highlighted by some impressive pitching performances by Cade Heil, Jeffery Hill, Matt Edwards, and Oscar Serratos.  The entire team played great defense.  The offense consisted of some dominating hitting, great base running, and was highlighted by a Tommy Coyne home run.
Sunday proved to be a long day with the Eagles having to play three games in one day.
After being down a few runs in the second inning of both of the first two games, the Eagles battled back with an offensive outburst to take a commanding lead in both games.  The first game featured solid pitching from Ben Mottet and Jeffery Hill, and the final inning was closed down by Cade Heil.  The game featured great hitting by the whole team and the defensive highlight was a crucial double play by Oscar Serratos.  During the second game, Tommy Coyne took the mound and delivered 3 great innings with Cade coming in for the last inning to close it out.  After beating the Georgia Knights 13 - 5 and the Walton Red Sox  7 - 5 it was time for the championship game.  Cade took the mound and delivered in impressive fashion with a complete game 3 hitter with 7 strikeouts.  The offense was again impressive with an early home run by Jason Adicks, a second home run by Tommy Coyne, and two laser's hit by Matt Edwards.  The Eagles beat the Walton Athletics 10 - 1 to win the championship.
