Jason McEachern Update
Some of you know, and some of you don't know, but I wanted to share some important information
with you about our son Jason.  He had the greatest weekend of all time the weekend of June 6th.
On Friday, June 6th he was chosen by the Tampa Bay Rays as their number 1 pick in the 13th
round in the Major League Baseball draft. On Saturday, June 7, 2008 we met with the scout
from Tampa Bay for our negotiations, and Jason officially signed to play with them at 4:30pm, t
hen he gratuated from St. Stephens HSchool at 7:00pm the same evening! Just when we thought
our heads couldn't spin faster, we were told that he needed to report to Tampa Bay on
Tuesday, June 10th for a post-draft camp, and from there he went directly to Princeton,
WV where his season began on Tuesday June 17th and will go through the end of August,
with games almost every day.

God's hand has been SO evident through this whole process, and we all
praise Him - both for Jason's talents and for the opportunity for him to fulfill
his life-long dream - to play professional baseball!

Being drafted out of high school Jason has been brought along slowly since getting to Princeton,
yet he got his first outing on Monday, June 30th. Playing in in Greeneville TN he entered
the game pitching the 6th and 7th inning, threw a total of 27 pitches, walked one, gave up
no hits, no runs and had 2 strikeouts.  To add icing to the cake for his first start when he
went in to pitch the 6th they were two runs down, yet the team scored 3 runs in the eighth
and Jason got the win!!  That's baseball.

I can't say enough to all of you that have your son's playing with Freddy and ccprospects's
I commend each of you for playing for Freddy as he is a true testament to his concern for
and development of each of your son's.  He will do ALL within his abitlity to work with them
to get them to the next level.  He is very talented at what he does, is in it so truly for
the players and he is very honest with his opinions and actions.  Jason McEachern
would not have had the opportunities that he is having today if it were not for
Freddy Suggs and I mean that very, very much!
Best of Luck to our ccprospect Family!!
(Mike, Melissa, Jennifer and Jason McEachern)

The day that coach Suggs called and asked me if I was ready to play baseball for him
was my lucky day. While just finishing up my "freshman" year at
Wingate University as the starting first baseman on the varsity baseball team I cannot help
but be thankful for all of coach Sugg's help and hard work.

Coach Suggs opened a lot of doors for me.  After being showcased on his team
for two years I had numerous opportunities to play baseball at the next level.
Coach Suggs was very beneficial to me and my parents with the "recruiting process".

Coach Suggs is a first class coach who knows the game and knows what it takes for
players to succeed at the college and pro level. He will tell you if you have what it takes to play
at the next level.  He will be honest about your skill level, whether you like it or not.
He is a no non-sense, straight forward coach/scout that will tell you like it is.

Coach Suggs sets high expectations as to how a player is supposed to look, act, and represent h
is team, family, and school.  It was an honor to be allowed to play baseball for coach Suggs
for two years. There are so many things that he taught me about baseball, as well as, life.
If you have the love of the game in you then coach Suggs knows how to get it out of you.

I greatly appreciate all that coach Suggs has done for me.  If you have an opportunity to
get to play for coach Suggs I highly recommend it.  He means so much more to me than just
a coach or a mentor.  He has helped me achieve one of my dreams.
Thank you coach Suggs for everything, you're the best!
(Heath Weatherford , 2007 1st Base, Wingate University)

Freddy is a first class guy who knows the game and knows what it takes for players
to succeed at the college and pro level. He is well-respected as a scout. Anyone who plays
for him is fortunate. He is as honest an evaluator as I have seen, and he truly does
everything for love of the game and for his players.
(Coach Kevin Ferrell, Head Baseball Coach at South Granville HS)

Jason and our family wanted to send you an email to tell you how VERY MUCH
we appreciate your gifts, talents and dedication you have given to the
Showcase Baseball program this past summer and fall. It has been
a tremendous opportunity for Jason as well as the many other ball players
that you have coached this year. We are especially appreciative of your
grooming, teaching, coaching, testimony and sharing of real life experiences
with Jason. You and your staff's hard work have paid off with Jason being
able to get several college scholarship offers and being able to verbally
commit to play next year for Wingate University. I know that his decision
to attend Wingate will be a great fit for him.

I can't say enough as a parent for all you have done for us through this
recruiting process, you told us early on that Jason had the potential to
play college baseball, you helped groom that potential and he feels very
fortunate to be moving on to the next level. You have demonstrated and
proven that you are truly working hard for these kids!

With Jason to begin playing down in your area of the state next year we hope
to see you at some games, hopefully in some scouting capacity, but
definitely in a friendship capacity. I'm sure that we will continue to call
on you as to questions in and as to the baseball arena. Please know that if
there is anything that we can do for you, please call and we wish you the
very best in your MLB Scouting career and with you new endeavor's through
your Angler's baseball programs. You are a tremendous blessing in all that
you do!
(The McEachern's-Jason McEachern, 2008 pitcher, Committed-Wingate University
signed with the Tampa Bay Rays)

My son played 2 years for Freddie Suggs. Freddie is like a second dad to him.
Freddie calls it the way he sees it. He told my son that he can't hit (he was right ).
However he could pitch, and Freddie told him that too.
He's pitching D1 college ball now.
Point is, my son would reach up and grab the moon for Freddie if he asked him too.
Freddie is one of our heros.
(Phil Martin-Corey Martin, Jr.pitcher Western Carolina)

Freddy gets it Done!!!

My son played with Freddy for two years.
He is a no non-sense, straight forward scout that will tell you like it is.
He will tell you if you have what it takes to play at the D-1, JC, D-II level.
He will be honest about your skill level, whether you like it or not.
F reddy sets high expectations for how a player is supposed to look, act,
and represent his team, family, and school.
When Freddy says that this kid is a "Ball Player" it is an extreme compliment.
He works extremely hard in promoting his players.
He spends countless hours contacting college coaches around the south.
I feel that he was very instrumental in getting my son noticed.
(Todd Brown-Shane Brown, Freshman outfield UNC-Charlotte)

I played 4 great years with Freddy and the Anglers.
It is an experience that I always look back on and credit for where I am today.
Several things Freddy told me at a young age came true.
For example, he told me I was going to get drafted .
Well, the funny thing is I did get drafted out of high school. I always wonder how he knew that.
Playing with the Anglers was such a great learning experience with life lessons that I take with me today.
(Brandon Yarbrough, Catcher, St Louis Cardinals Organization)
