CHARLESTON SHARKS: Welcome
The Concerned Citizens for Youth Development is a non-profit 501(c)(3)organization that has actively provided AAU winter, spring and summer basketball programs for children in Charleston for eight years. The purposes and functions of the program will be the self-improvement of our young people, to help them in achieving basic life skills (discipline, insight, leadership, teamwork, self-esteem, character building, knowledge of self, etc.) through academics and athletics.
Our Charleston Sharks Boys Basketball club was established in March 2001. Our first team consisted of 15 boys that competed on the AAU circuit. The club currently consists of three teams in the 12U, 15U and 16U age divisions. In 2009, we will try to establish a 10U & 11U boys' team. We are looking for student athletes to join our club.
Since the inception of the Charleston Sharks Boys' Basketball Club, our boys' team have won two South Carolina State AAU Boys' Basketball Championship in 2004 and 2005. Along with two Super Regional Basketball Championship in 2005 and 2007. In 2008, the Charleston Sharks Boys' Basketball team won the AAU 15U/9th Grade Boys' Basketball 1st Place Division II National Classic.
The Charleston Sharks home facility is located at the Arthur Christopher City Gymnasium, 65 Hagood Ave., Charleston, SC 29403.
