CCBC Tryout Dates / Times for 10 / 5th Grade, 11U / 6th Grade Girls * Sunday, November 8th, 6-8pm * Thursday, Novemeber 12th, 6-7:30pm * Sunday, November 15th, 6-8pm All Tryouts will be held at Toano Middle School... Call Coach Sluss at 565-3628 or for more information call 565-7319. Girls ages are determined by whatever the players age is on January 1, 2010. The grade exception rule is 10U / 5th grade, 11U / 6th grade (which means an 11 year old 5th grader can play on the 10U team, and a 12 year old 6th grader can play on the 11U team).
CCBC 10U/11U joined Diana Taurasi, 2004 WNBA Rookie of the Year, who hosted the 2005 VCU Rams Winter Classic/Girls AAU Tournament, Jan. 8-9 at the ALLTEL Pavilion at the Stuart C. Siegel Center in Richmond, VA. She is the former University of Connecticut superstar that paced the Huskies to three-straight national championships and helped the United States capture a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. She ran an instructional clinic for all participants following the event as well as provided a photo/autograph opportunity for each team. During the clinic Diana picked volunteers to play a game of knockout. CCBC 11U's own Kieley Sutton was picked and placed 3rd. Way to go Kiely! Diana truly was a great host and a great role model. The girls enjoyed the tournament and especially enjoyed meeting Diana Taurasi! |
