Scott was a two time All-Space Coast midfielder at Merritt Island High School and then played four years at the University of Central Florida where he was the most improved player in 1987. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in business education.

     Scott previously was the girls varsity coach at Eau Gallie High School and the assistant boys varsity coach at Merritt Island before taking over as the girls varsity coach At Merritt Island High School. Scott has coached the Lady Mustangs for seven seasons. He has led the Lady Mustangs to State Finals last two out of three seasons. Coach Carswell has recorded a record of 100-37-14. He holds a USSF "A" soccer license and is on the state ODP staff.
