CA Yard Dawgs College of Baseball: Yard Dawg Coach Associates

Our "Coach Specialists"

CA Yard Dawgs College of Baseball believes every player deserves an opportunity to become the best they can.   To that end, we have assembled a group of "coach associates" to share their expertise and help players realize their baseball dreams.

During this critical time, when young men are considering playing college or professional ball or both, our associates are poised to use their skills to guide them in the decision-making process.

Coach associates are resources separate from us. Use your discretion, and select those who benefit your player and produce desired results.   As affiliates of CA Yard Dawg College of Baseball, some services are unique to us or discounted from customary rates. Downloadable information flyers are in the "Associates Flyers" section.

Richard Nester, "Academic Coach" & SAT Prep Instructor

Richard Nester and SAT Book
Academic Coach Richard Nester
With over 30 years of teaching experience, Richard offers academic assistance to college students at the University of California, Irvine in the Learning and Academic Resource Center. In addition to SAT prep, he has taught courses for the GRE, GMAT, LSAT and MCAT and graded college placement essays for the University of California for 12 years. He has spent an entire career "making better guessers out of students, showing them how to use school smarts to become better test-takers."

Richard believes there are no secret tricks to test-taking. Good test-taking is based on fundamentals, which are broken down into simple, recognizable patterns. Like baseball training, students learn to identify situations and key words so they can move quickly through problems.

Richard has a BA from the University of Virginia and a Masters in English from the University of Massachusettes. A former athlete, he won the masters division of the Los Angeles Marathon Race Walk.   Later, he became involved with baseball when his son decided to play competitively.

Special pricing is available to CA Yard Dawg players.
