What makes a good hitter? Practice. How does the batter know the next pitch? Training! What makes a smart test-taker? Practice! And a good SAT score? Training!
By drawing parallels between the SAT and baseball, Richard Nester, Academic Coach and instructor at the UCI Learning & Academic Resource Center, shows how to use on-the-field strategies in test situations. The goal is to teach the "spin" on a problem and apply it. Parent and player meet before the first session, to lay out a game strategy!
Hourly rates are a fraction of Princeton Review and Kaplan. Sessions are taught individually or in a small group. Students bring the Official SAT Study Guide, available at a local bookstore or on line at www.collegeboard.com.

Does Your Son Needs SAT Prep? Tell-Tale Signs Include:
- PSAT and SAT scores in the 400's or less
- Less than an A student
- Struggles with English, writing or math
- If likes math, prefers to do problems in his head, not on paper
- Weak vocabulary
- Doesn't enjoy reading on his own (sorry, reading box scores doesn't count!)
