District 57 Umpires - 2009 Regional and World Series Selection
District 57 Umpires - Honored with 2009 Tournament Selection
District 57 has been notified that 2 of our umpires have been selected for regional and world series competitions in 2009. Before I recognize those 2 names.... I would like to take this time to say "thanks" to the entire D57 umpire family -- for the tireless efforts put on to improve all of our leagues and LL provided programs. Every year - myself and Gerard Takiguchi (D57 - UIC) present applications for many of our umpires..... and it is a very tough process (selections for the regionals come from all 12 state locations; selections for the world series - come from all 50 states and four foreign Regions).
Kate Hart -- home league - Tassjara Valley American & National --- congrats to Kate -- she has been selected to umpire at the Big League Softball Regional in Palmdale, CA.
Michael "T" Martin -- home league - Livermore(s) -- congrates to Michael T -- he has been selected to head to the "big show" -- LL World Series in Williamsport, PA.
On behalf of our entire membership -- I congratulate both very well deserving and wonderful people. DW
