played his Junior hockey in Canada with the Peterborough Petes 

      joined Boston Bruins for the 1981-82 season (15 Goals and 39 points in 61 games)

     In 1984-85 Fergus hit the 30-goal plateau while notching a career-best 73 points      In Toronto Fergus became the team's top pivot and go to guy.  He netted a career-best 31 goals, while totaling 73 points in his first year and again in his second year with the Original Six club.

In his 1988-89 campaign he had 67 points, and a personal best 45 assists in 80 games

1992 Fergus was able to contribute for Vancouver with 34 points in 44 games to finish out that year

Tom played 726 games at the NHL level and amassed 581 points.  He distinguished himself as a capable scorer and a strong team player.
