For the 6th year in a row the Buchholz boys captured the Alachua County Championship. Eight teams participated. This year for the 1st time Columbia County H.S., an out of county team participated. The tournament will now be known as the John and Ann Ives Golf Classic, and other out of county teams will be invited in the future. Due to a rain delay, the 18 hole tournament was shortened to 9 holes. The Bobcats were led by Jr. Alex Slaton's red hot five under par 31, a tournament record. He was followed by his brother and co-captain Andrew Slaton and Parker Jones' 1 under 35's. The final score that counted was co-captain Bodi Karsono's 39, his 11th sub 40 round of the season. Elliot Norden's 44 was the fifth score on the varsity. The team finished at 4 under 140, another tournament record, and beat 2nd place Oak Hall by 26 strokes. This is the 6th tournament where a Buchholz golfer has gone under par. As the regular season ends the Bobcats have won 11 of the 12 tournaments they have played in and came in 3rd out of 30 in the one tournament they did not win.

JULIETTE FALLS GOLF CLUB
Buchholz boys’ golf team won their 6th tournament of the season

On a windy day at a beautiful golf course the Buchholz boys’ golf team won their 6th tournament of the season. Buchholz shot a 154, Trinity Catholic shot a 161 and our host Dunnellon H.S. shot a 195. The Bobcats were led by Captain Bodi Karsono's 37, which was also good enough for tournament medalist. Parker Jones was right behind Bodi with a 38 followed by Mike Hoehn's 39 and Andrew Slaton's 40. The course, Juliette Falls, was the prettiest we've played. Afterwards some fine dining at Big Rascal's BBQ was the icing on the cake of a fine afternoon.

After the # 1,2 & 3 scores came in Buchholz was down to Trinity Catholic by 4 strokes. The depth of the talent on the Buchholz team was too much for the other schools as the # 4 player, Andrew Slaton came in at 2 over 37 and the 5 & 6 players, Mike Hoehn and Elliot Norden were both even par 35's. We were able to drop our two highest scores and counted Bodi Karsono's 39 to have 4 sub 40 scores, enough to win by 13 strokes, 146 to 159.
