My name is Patrick Meidenbauer, and I am a senior at Saint Ignatius High School. I have lived in Brunswick my whole life, and have played soccer for the BSA as well as at Ignatius. Last summer, I traveled to the Dominican Republic (with Mission Possible) and what I saw was amazing: the happiest people I have ever seen. It shocked me. Near Ignatius, I see people who live in poverty and are unemployed/underemployed. The poverty and unemployment in the Dominican, however, is an unimaginable thing compared to the poverty in America. The difference for me was that the people in the Dominican always look for the best in every situation and struggle that faces them. This optimism and extreme need has driven me to want to help better the lives of these people. Therefore, I am reaching out to you, as a member of the BSA, and asking you to consider donating your old soccer gear and/or making a donation to Mission Possible.
