Mighty Mite Division
Ages 7-8 45-90 pounds
Age 9 45-70 pounds
Junior Pee Wee Division
Ages 8-9-10 55-100 pounds
Age 11 55-80 pounds
Pee Wee Division
Ages 9 -10-11 70-115 pounds
Age 12 70-95 pounds
Junior Midget Division
Ages 10-11-12 80-130 pounds
Age 13 80-110 pounds
Midget Division
Ages 11-12-13-14 95-150 pounds
Age 15 95-130 pounds
All ages shown are as of July 31, and weights are as of the certification date. Certification usually occurs between August 15 and August 25 for most participants.
Flag football participants must be no younger than 5 years old on July 31 nor older than 6 years old as of the same date. There are no weight restrictions.
Cheerleaders must meet the same age criteria, and usually participate with a football team whose ages correspond to the cheerleaders. As of 3/1/2005, 5 and 6 year olds may participate with the Flag football team only and not as a mascot, if there is a corresponding cheer squad.
NOTE: A 5 pound increase of the upper limit of each Division was approved by National Pop Warner on 6/11/2004. The weights shown above include that increase.
