COLLEGE SHOWCASE: CANCELLED FOR 2009
The U16 and U18 Tier One Divisions will benefit from a brand new feature of our tournament. We will play host to a College Showcase Event with coaches/scouts from Universities in Canada and the U.S. invited to attend. This will provide your players with the opportunity to be seen by quality soccer programs, many with scholarship possibilities.
Each Division One, U16 and U18 team will be asked to provide the name, phone number, address, e-mail address, grades and test scores (ACT, SAT) for your team and each of your players. We will then provide a book with this information for each college coach/scout to better assess your player's abilities.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP:
We are also excited to announce our new Club Championship format for our 2009 event! This will be based on a points system and includes results of all the teams in the tournament from your home club from all age divisions. The point system is as follows:
1st Seed - 25 points – Champion of Gold Medal Game.
2nd Seed – 20 points – Finalist of Gold Medal Game.
3rd Seed – 15 points – Champion of Bronze Medal Game.
4th Seed – 10 points – Finalist of Bronze Medal Game.
5th Seed – 5 points – Winner of #5 vs. #6 Game.
The Classic Tournament Champion Club will receive 10% of the total tournament team registrations. Based on full tournament registrations (if all age groups are filled), that would be almost $5,000.00 for your entire soccer club. The more teams your home soccer club brings to the event, the better chance you will have to win the Club Championship!
Within this format teams will still be entered into the age and gender division that best suits their teams' abilities. We will cap the number of teams in each division at 6 with 2 pools of 3. Teams will be entered on a first come first serve basis. Teams will play each team in their pool in order to reseed themselves. Teams will be guaranteed four games.
