Message from the President

Introducing your 2014 BDMSA Executive

 President:  Gord Kuntze

Vice President:  Trish Verbakel

Past President:  Sue Fleischman

Treasurer:  Lisa Hollett

Secretary:  Kylie Brunette

Registrar:  Marge Friesen

Equipment Manager:  Dave Verbakel

Head Convenor:  Open

Senior Convenor:  Doug Brenham

Junior Convenor:  Travis Dafoe

T-Ball / Atom Convenor:  Daryl Pickard

Sponsorship / Publicity Director:  Heather Haddon

Select / Loop Convenor:  Jason Reinhart

The 2014 Executive will have an ambitious agenda.  This will include:

1)  Coaching Clinics:  We need as many coaches as possible to take the clinics to start standardizing training and to give potential coaches the confidence to take the job.

2)  Scorekeeping Clinics:  We need as many people as possible to attend a Scorekeeping Clinic to learn how to properly keep score.  This will go a long way to providing accurate information to our Publicity Director so the players will see their names in the newspapers.

3)  Pitching Clinics:  We need to get the potential pitchers out to the Clinics to get them trained so we can regain our place amongst associations as a producer of top quality pitching again.

4)  Skills Clinics:  All players and coaches can benefit from the Skills Clinics to learn proper body mechanics for throwing, catching & hitting.  Other skills worked on include proper base running, rundowns, player positioning, etc.

5) Select Program:   We need dedicated coaches who are willing to be formally trained to run these teams.  The Select Program will increase the level of play both for the players on the teams and the players on the house league teams as the Select players will bring back their new skills to their house teams.

It is time to build our association back up to the levels we achieved in the early to mid 2000's when we consistently placed teams in the top three in the province and won two provincial championships.

If you are interested in participating in any of these programs, watch your email as mass email messages will be sent out with pertinent information.

Gord Kuntze                                                                                                                            President
