2012 Season

The 2012 Stars were a first year 16B team with primarily 15 year olds.  We played mostly A or Open tournaments  including Mountain Magic and Sparkler.

We played 108 games in 2012. Our record was 67 wins, 36 losses and 5 ties.

June 18:     Stars take second in Triple Crown State.     Winning close games versus Adrenaline 3-1 and Loveland Rage 4-2 got the Stars into the championship game where the Fusion prevailed.

July 1        Stars win Horsetooth Bracket in Sparkler.   Taking three close games in a row the Stars won the Horsetooth Bracket in the Sparkler. The Stars defeated the Rapid City Rebels 6-4, edged the Psyclones Silver 6-5 and in the championship game Raina Galbiati's 8th inning single scored Rachel Perley to give the Stars a come from behind 10-9 win over Colorado Crew.

July 15          Stars take second in USSSA State.   After winning five games, the last featuring an 8 run rally in the last inning to topple Rage 10-6, the Stars fell to the Rage 5-4 to finish second in the 30 team USSSA state.

July 22          Stars win ASA 16/18 State    The Stars edged the Pony Express Mavericks 9 -7 in two extra innings to win the ASA state.  Karli Hughes tripled home Rachel Perley and then scored on a sac fly to provide the winning margin.
