Bondurant Soccer Club: New to Soccer
Parents or kids new to soccer?
Come join the fun of a fast paced and rewarding sport!
"My son wanted to play soccer, but I didn't even know the basics of the game. By his second season, I was a coach!"
The Bondurant Soccer Club(BSC) welcomes all families in the area to join us for the love of the game.
BSC currently offers recreation soccer teams for ages 4-18. Soccer seasons are in both spring and fall.
- 4-5 year olds (U6) play only here in Bondurant. (Must be 4 by 8/1 to play in following fall or spring season.)
- Ages 6 and up (U8 and higher) travel to local communities for some games inlcuding Altoona, Pella, Polk City, & Pleasant Hill.
U6 Basics
- All U6 teams are coed. We divide up teams into two groups by age.
- Each season begins with a Saturday U6 clinic. At the clinic, players & parents will meet their coach, get t-shirts, and learn the basics of the game. The clinic ends with their first game.
- U6 games are held on Tuesday & Thursday evenings.
- U6 teams do not travel. All games are played at the Bondurant soccer complex.
- Games are made up of 4-eight minute quarters. Coaches will rotate players regularly for breaks and even playing time.
- U6 teams do not have practices. The rules of the game are very basic, teaching soccer & sportsmanship fundamentals. While goals are made, we do not keep score of our U6 games. The coaches are the "referees" for these games.
- U6 teams are given t-shirts (each team a different color). We ask that all players wear shin guards and long soccer socks for safety. Soccer cleats are suggested but not required.
U8 & Higher Basics
- U8 and older offer girls only or coed teams.
- These teams play some games in Bondurant and travel to local communities for other games. Games are typically held on Saturdays or Sundays.
- During the week, the teams practice 1-2 evenings.
- Some of our older teams also get involved in additional tournaments in Iowa.
- Rules of the game become more specific as you move up in age division. Certified referees are at each game and scores are kept.
- All players must purchase a Bondurant Soccer Uniform for $20. It can be worn from season to season. All other appropriate soccer gear is required (shin guards, soccer cleats, etc.)
