Two Boca Jrs. Teams Qualify For Super Y League Nationals
The cake read "Super Y Nationals Here We Come." That's how the River City United Boca Jrs. '91 team (Cavitt Academy) found out on Tuesday night that they had qualified for the 2005 Super Y League North American Finals to be held in Tampa, Florida from November 18-22. They join the Boca '90s who qualified for the event earlier this summer.

"We are the only club in the Sacramento area to win a National Championship in soccer," said Girls' Director of Coaching Gabriel Bolton. "We are looking forward to continuing this tradition of National Championships with the Super Y League Nationals in Tampa. Both of these teams worked very hard to earn this honor and our entire club is proud of them."

The Boca '91 team finished the Super Y League season with a record of 9-2-1 and in first place in the Pacific Division "A" Flight. They are scheduled to play the Metro Division Champions Match Fit Academy from New Jersey, the MidWest Division Champion Cleveland Internationals, and the yet to be determined Champion of the South East Division.

"We are really looking forward to this great competition," said Bolton who is also the head coach of both the '91 and '90 teams. "This championship not only serves to crown champions, but it is also a US Soccer ODP event. This gives our players just one more avenue to showcase their talent at the national level."

The Boca '90 team finished the Super Y League season with a record of 8-1-1 record and in second place. The top two teams qualified for the North American Finals.

The Boca '90 team already has two trips to nationals under their belt. In 2004 the team won the US Club National Championship. In 2005 the team competed at US Club Nationals again.

They are also scheduled to play Match Fit Academy, Cleveland Internationals, and a yet to be determined champion from the New England Division.

This event will be held in conjunction with the USL SoccerFest and will be televised on Fox Soccer Channel.
