Green Horizon
Tuesday, January 8
Green Horizon Landscaping comes to our aid!

Many of you may have noticed that the parking lot at the Oddfellows was getting, well, overwhelmed by the snow and it was difficult to park. I asked Brian Cressey of Green Horizon for some help and he quickly sent a crew over to clear the lot.

It is this type of community support that makes living in a small community so special. Be sure to thank Brian when you see him around town!

Lots of January Snow!

The groomers will be out again today packing and tracking the new snow.  It will take some time to firm up, but the cold blast on Thursday should be helpful.  As a general note, folks should understand that after a big storm it takes about 6-8 hours to get the place groomed and that does not include letting the snow rest between the packing and grooming.

As a general rule its 24 hours between the end of a big snowfall and groomed trails.

Contoocook Sno-Mads to the rescue!

Our local snowmobile club, the Contoocook Sno-Mads graciously allowed us to use one of their grooming sleds today.  Thus, the fairgrounds are once again groomed albeit still a bit soft.  The Sno-Mads have also agreed to help us get through this tough spot as we continue to seek a new machine as the old one is repaired.

Thanks again Sno-Mads!!

Thursday, December 6
The lights are on!

The lights will be on this evening and most Thursdays this winter from 5pm-8pm. Come take advantage of the early season snow.

Rob Knight will be looking for volunteers to man the warming hut and turn off the lights, he can be contacted at: RobertFKnight@comcast.net

Please remember to exit tthe facility by driving out via the right side of the Oddfellows Hall.

Snow in December!

Early snow!  As the snow continues to fall through Monday the question most folks have is when will the trails be groomed?

The grooming process takes some time; first the snow should be left to settle a bit and then the tracking can begin.  If all goes well there should be groomed tracks by Wednesday afternoon!

I would like to ask everyone to help in keeping the tracks in great form by adhering to the following:

Please no walking, sliding, snowshoeing and the like on groomed trails.  If you see someone who is doing any of those activities, if you could politely ask them not to.
