The Black Knights Youth Football Team is located in Bloomington, Il and has Tackle for ages 8 - 14 , Flag football for ages 5-7, and Cheerleading for ages 6-14. We have five levels at Tackle , three that play on Saturdays: Squirts , Peewee, JV ( Junoir Varsity); and two that play on Sundays: Varsity and Senior. What team you play on depends on age and weight . Also, League rules require that all players on Saturday teams play at least 50% of the game, and Sunday players 25%.This ensures that all players will learn how to improve and better themselves and the team by getting experience in game situations.
We are members of the Junoir Football League of Central Illinois.(JFLOCI)
Our Flag program has two levels , 5 -6 years old and 6-7 year olds, all of which play on Saturdays. At this level the kids will be taught basic football fundamentals that help prepare them for our tackle program.
Our Cheerleading program has three levels: one cheers just on Saturday for all three teams, one cheers just on Sunday for both teams ,and then one group cheers for all five teams. The day you might cheer on depends on when a brother might play football, or parent/coach preference. The cheerleaders will be taught cheers, jumps, dance and stunts with qualified coach's.
All of our coach's attend a coach's clinic run by the JFLOCI to recieve proper training in first aid , and basic coaching skills.
In 2007 we had about 110 tackle players, 35 Flag and 30 Cheerleader, we are about a 6 year old team and are getting bigger every season!!! Watch for sign up information!!
