Welcome to the 2013 girls Fast-Pitch Softball season! We are community-based, non-profit organization, and as such, our goal is to promote a fun atmosphere where the girls can learn team work and make new friends. As parents, we never know what journey our young children may take as they grow.  BGS is here to help them gain new knowledge and experience the game of softball. 

We are looking for girls in 1st—8th grade who would like to play softball. We have three levels of play within our program:  Minors Division, consisting of players in first through third grade; Majors Division, consisting of players in fourth and fifth grades; and Seniors Division, consisting of players in sixth through eighth grades. Prior experience is not needed. All we require is a positive attitude and willingness to learn.  We’ll provide the uniform, fields, equipment, training, competitive play, challenge and memories to be cherished in the years to come.

The BGS volunteer coaches look forward to providing another year of instruction on the fundamentals of the game.  Our coaches are dedicated to helping our girls develop and improve their skills. This year, coaches will place additional emphasis on hitting, pitching and player rotation. To help prepare our coaches for the new season, we are planning coaching clinics prior to the start of the season.

BGS is fortunate that many of the local businesses assist our league by defraying some of our operating expenses.  As the cost of operating the league continues to grow, additional sponsorship opportunities will be offered this year.  If your business is interested in sponsoring our program, please contact us. 

The Birmingham Jaguars Travel Team has expanded to 10U/11U/12U/14U/16U teams.  If you are interested in a tryout please contact Bob Shefferly, his phone number can be found in the Board Member section of this brochure.

Softball Clinic is back March 17th- Time (TBD) look for emails with further info.

The information you need to register your daughter in the 2013 season is included in this application.  Also, if you are interested in volunteering your time and talents to BGS, please contact Jim Arnold, League President, jima060166@yahoo.com.

Evaluations - March 16th, & March 23th, 2013 (Birmingham Seaholm High School)  1PM - 3PM (Both Dates)

Draft notification - March 26th - 27th, 2013

Practice starts - March 30th, 2013

Season starts - April 22nd, 2013

Softball Clinic - March 17th - (Stay tuned for the time)
