  NEWS:  SHARLLA IS CURRENTLY WORKING WITH THE NORTHERN ICE 12U!!

 

Sharlla's programs are simple: she will combine your goals as a team or individual with her expertise to recognize biomechanical weaknesses and create a hitting program for you to achieve peak performance!  She works the "big picture" by improving all aspects of hitting, including directional hitting, pitch counts, visual mechanics, and confidence! 

Her teaching methods break down the player's mechanics and teach her how to feel correct movements, which allows her to recognize problems on her own. Troubleshooting is an invaluable skill to have, and too few players are able to do it. If you have something specific your team or daughter needs to work on, we can definitely help.

Sharlla has been giving private softball lessons since October of 2005.  Prior to that, she was the assistant/hitting coach at Viterbo University (NAIA) in La Crosse, WI where she helped the team to demolish several offensive school records.  In the two years as the V-Hawks assistant coach, the team achieved their first winning season in 2004, and achieved the most wins in school history in 2005.  The team also had 6 All-Conference Players and 1 Pitcher of the Year.

Sharlla earned her Master of Science Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Psychology from Western Illinois University in 2004.  While at WIU, she spent one semester as an assistant coach with the Division I Westerwind softball program, and spend two semesters as a Graduate Assistant, teaching exercise activity courses such as stress management and co-ed slowpitch softball.

Individual lessons are 30 minutes each and are as follows:

 

Lessons at a field, park, or other facility (secured by client):

                   1-4  lessons     =  $25/lesson                                                                                                     

                   5-10 lessons    =  $20/lesson                                             

                   10+  lessons    =  $16/lesson)

 

Lessons at The Perfect Swing (Darien, IL):

                   1 lesson            =  $50

                   4 lesson pack    =  $175 ($43.75/lesson)

 Team Special: 

For teams who have access to a field, park, or other facility, the cost is $250 for 10 1-hour lessons (that’s only $12.50 per ½ hour lesson)!!

Sharlla held a 2-day hitting clinic in October at Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI!  Thanks to Head Coach Andrea Tsilis & all the players for their hard work!!

Here's how the clinic worked:

Day 1: Players video each other hitting in a batting cage vs a pitching machine.  Sharlla worked individually at a Tee station for 6 minutes per player--giving them 2 - 3 mechanics to focus on.  Players rotated from Video-taping station to Tee station to Bat Speed Radar station (to get baseline swing speeds).  At Bat Speed Radar station, players also worked on new mechanics.

Day 2: Players watched their videos from previous day, then rotated to Sharlla's Soft-toss station where they watched and listened to player who was working with Sharlla, then rotated into cage with Sharlla to work on player-specific mechanics.
