2009 Season
2009 raiders helmet

The 2009 regular season is now completed. The Raiders 125lb,105lb and 95lb teams have played tough and competitive football throughout. The flag A & B teams and 80lb team have also had great seasons . Our cheering squads have showed great spirit and will participate in competitions next month. The Raiders 125 lb team will play Emmaus in a first round playoff game. Flag A and 80 lb Raiders will play in the Bethlehem Bowl Tournament on 10/31 & 11/1. Flag B will play in a tournament at North Parkland.

** Raiders' night at the Iron Pigs Game on 8/31 was a great success as was  Raiders' night at the Liberty High School Game on Friday Sept 25th at BSD Stadium.  



Monday, October 20
SYFL Playoffs and Tournaments

The Raiders 100lb Team qualified for the SYFL Playoffs with a 7-1 regular season record,  finishing as the Colonial Div. runner-up. The Raiders are the 4th seeded team in the playoffs and  faced the  5th seeded Bethlehem Bulldogs at Catty this past Sat. The Raiders prevailed 19-7 in an exciting and hard fought contest. The Raiders  faced the defending champion, North Parkland Buffalos, in the SYFL semi-finals this past Sunday 11/2 at South Parkland. The Raiders fell to North Parkland who advanced to their third straight championship. The 100lb team finished this season as having the most successful record to date of any Raider team since joining the SYFL. 

Raiders Flag A and Raiders 80lb teams played in the Lower Macungie Tournament. The Raiders Cheerleading squads  also  participated. Both Raiders squads advanced to the tournament championship but fell in the finals. Great job Flag A and 80lb teams for successful seasons and many terrific memories!!     

 *Thank you to all the dedicated coaches , board members and parents who helped throughout the season and playoffs.

 ** Please note : If your child has not had a physical, please inform the coach.  All football players and cheerleaders must have a physical.

Birth Certificates must be turned into the coach. Any pending players not approved by the league cannot play!!!

Check www.syfl.org for schedules & updates as well as link to complete rundown of scores and standings each week for competitive level teams. No scores or standings are kept for Flag and 80lb instructional levels.

 



Raiders' 2008 Season

Bethlehem Raiders' Pre-Season & Regular Season Schedules are posted. Please see individual coaches for specific schedules as the Flag B & 80lb schedules may vary.

The Raiders opened the Pre-season with the Lower Macungie Mustangs at Sell Field on Sat. 8/16 The Raiders swept the Mustangs at all levels except for Flag B which ended in a 28 - 28 final

The Lee Parham Bowl occurred at Sell Field on 8/23/08. The 80lb team played to 0 - 0 tie with N. Parkland. The 90lb team won convincingly over the Beth. Bulldogs 14 -0. The 100lb team won an overtime thriller 19 - 13 over the Bulldogs. The 115lb team fell to the Bulldogs in a back and forth game 19 - 14. Flag A and Flag B each prevailed in their contests.

The Raiders open the regular season at Northampton on Sat. 8/30 Flag A & B teams lost to Northampton in hard fought contests. The 80lb Raiders prevailed 20-0. The 90lb team hung tough in the first half but eventually lost 19-0.m The 100lb Raiders won convincingly 26-6. The 115lb Raiders lost a close game 13-6.

The Raiders Flag A, 90lb,100lb and 115lb teams played at Mountainville on Sat. 9/6. Despite the weather, the Raiders 90lb team won in overtime 7-0. the 100lb Raiders rolled 41-0. The 115lb Raiders lost a heart breaker 7-6. The Raiders 80lb squad beat Emmaus in a hard fought game 7-6 on Sunday. 

The Raiders 80lb team pounded the Bethlehem Steelers 31-6 on Sat 9/13. the Raiders 90lb team lost 27-6 and the Raiders 100lb squad prevailed in a hard fought game 12-0. The Raiders 115lb team lost a close game 13-6

The Raiders 80lb team continued its winning season by handing Northampton another loss 7-0 on Sat. 9/27. The 90lb team also prevailed against Alton Park 20-7. The 100lb team remained unbeaten smashing Alton Park 21-0. The Raiders 115lb team lost another heartbreaker 8-6.

The Raiders 80lb team remained unbeaten by outlasting the Bethlehem Steelers for the second time 7-0 on Sat. 10/4. The Raiders 90lb team traveled to Catty and lost a tough contest 12-0. The Raiders 100lb team also remained unbeaten by handing Catty a 27-7 loss. The 115lb Raiders lost another close game 6-0. The Raiders Flag A squad played to a 7-7 tie with Catty in an exciting game.

The Raiders 80lb team finished the season unbeaten by defeating South Parkland and Lower Nazareth in their final two games. Flag A finished the season with a victory over Lower Nazareth and will play in the Lower Mac tournament with the 80lb team on 10/25. The 90lb team also finished the season with a win over L. Nazareth and posted a 4-4 record. The 100lb Raiders lost to S. Parkland in a tough game but finished the season strong with a win over L. Naz. The 100lb team faces the Beth. Bulldogs in the playoffs on 10/25 at Catty. The 115lb team fought hard to the end but were defeated their final two games.

Raiders' Parents: We encourage parents to be involved with the organization as each season begins. This organization can only become stronger with parent participation. If you feel you can help please feel free to approach a board member or coach and ask what you can do to help!!

** Please note that parents are asked to view practice from the side of the field ( along the fence line). We ask that parents not be in the practice areas while practice is occurring. If you have a question or concern, please feel free to talk to the coach or coordinator following practice. Thanks for your cooperation.
