Chaves played his college ball at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. In 2000 he took part in the D-II College World Series in Montgomery, AL. He has been the Bellows starting 2nd baseman for 6 years. He will be looked at to play solid defense and contribute with the bat in several different ways.
