Track Season 2009

To all associated with Beaumont Track and Field this year should feel great about what was accomplished. The boys won league for the first time since 1999, and the girls finished second behind Heritage. A total of 12 school records fell, with those records being broken 21 times over the course of the season. Javier Perez became the first athlete to ever qualify for CIF in 4 individual events. Brandon Langford broke 6 (yes 6) school records. Victor qualified for the masters meet and was the most improved athlete in the southern section in his event. Ashlee Cervantes continued her domination of this league with another MVP award (totaling 4 overall so far...). We had of the 30 events total, 13 of them we had people ranked in the top 15 in the county overall. Our Seniors led us on the boys side, the Juniors led us on the girls side, but everyone contributed to the cause. The girls will look to beat Heritage next year, and the boys will see if we can defend the title.

There were many more highlights, but that is just the start. Remember the Banquet is June 3rd (Wednesday) at 630pm in the auxiliary gym (bring dessert!!!!)

DONE- League Finals List Finalized and Posted

OK computer problems are over. IN the handout section to the left, look under Mountain Pass League Seed List. IN that excel sheet, you will see the final lists for Tuesday and Thursday. If you are in the top 16, you are in the meet. If you are 17 or higher, you are an alternate. If you are 17 or 18, you should continue coming to practice because there is a good chance you will still compete. People that are now officially in that werent earlier- Martin in Triple, Angel and Devon in the 400, Joanna in long jump. Congrats to you guys as well. Have a good weekend and if you have questions, email me at brandontedrow@hotmail.com or text me if you have the number! For prelims, there are two heats of all races 400 and down, if you are in the top 2 in your heat tuesday, you move on, and then the next 4 fastest times overall also move on. In the field events you will get 4 jumps or throws.

Mountain Pass League Seed List (Final)

OK, so computers dont want to cooperate tonight. So tomorrow morning the list will be posted on here. Right now some of you have moved up the list due to scratches (Devon Simpson in the 400 is now running!). If you are like number 17 or 18, you still need to come to practice because you are the first two alternates and there is a good chance you could be running. SO be ready. I will have it on here by 930am Saturday morning. Sorry

Boys Inch Closer to that League Title

The second MPL meet went somewhat according to plan. The girls had to have a close to perfect meet, and unfortunately, we fell just a little bit short. Fortunately, at least it wasnt San Jac again!!! But both the boys and girls had some very good performances top to bottom and can hold our heads up high. The boys just need to take care of two more teams and the title is yours! Congrats to the Sprint Medley team and also Ashlee for qualifying for Arcadia. Enjoy the weekend off, and see everyone Monday afternoon.

Cougar Classic Results 2009

Needless to say if you were there, that the Beaumont Cougar Classic did not exactly end the way everyone wanted it to. With the arrival of a swarm of bees who decided to take control of the timing duties ( swarming inside the tent, and ultimately 4 feet away from the finish line on the tripod and boxes the camera was mounted on). Non the less, the meet went pretty well with 19 schools represented in some way, and with some very nice performances. In the handout section to the left, you will find the results for each level. If any coaches see this site, let me know at brandontedrow@hotmail.com if i missed anything in the way of medals etc.

Track Season Kicks Off at Palm Springs

The first meet of the 2009 season went very well. The new athletes performed well, and the returners showed they are here for business. I will post results tomorrow morning on the site and in my room. But some quick highlights; Monika with a 4'10" high jump (amazing for the first time), Jazmin kicking off track season with a 5:49 mile, Victor cruising a 4:44 mile, Javier showing his dominance in the 110 Hurdles, Ashlee showing her ability in the 800, and the boys 4x400 running within 3 seconds of the school record....can you say speedsuits??? Also the girls 4x400 is already 20 seconds faster than last year at this time, and only a handful of seconds off their best last season (and they are all back next year too!!!!)

Wednesday, November 5
League Finals is the Ultimate Domination

Girls won by over 6 minutes.... Boys by over 3 (Var and JV) and the JV girls won by.. 18 minutes!! Good grief! You guys are awesome. The results are found in the hand out section to the left.

Pictures tomorrow at 3pm. Practice for my CIF peoples Friday. Oh just so you know, for the boys its todays varsity plus T-Mac and Benito, and for the girls it is Emy and Marissa. Congrats. All of you will be receiving the league championship certificate as well at the banquet.

Sunday, November 2
League Finals Week

Alright, this is it. League finals are this week at Noble Creek, Wednesday the 5th starting at 245pm. Varsity races will be the first races this time, and JV races will be after those. Good luck. Pictures are also this Thursday after school at the high school.

Saturday, October 11
School Records @ Inland Empire??????

Ok, not officially. In the handouts i posted the results from today along with 'adjusted' times of what you might have ran for three miles. It is completely based off of pacing charts and you could have went a little faster or slower depending on what happened, but this is as close as well will get. The fr/soph girls are out of luck cause no one knows how short your course was, SORRY! But if these adjusted times were accurate, the girls would have beaten the school record for the team by 20 seconds, and the boys would have been just 13 seconds away from the school record w/o our number 2 runner. Nice job. I know some may be disappointed with the adjusted times, but these are pretty accurate. Awesome job today.

Summary to be posted on Dyestatcal.com

Mountain Pass League #2 turned out to be a lot like the first. Beaumont was able to follow up their performance in the first league meet with an almost carbon copy the second time. Beaumont was able to dominate all four levels. On the boys side, Banning and Rubioux as well as San Jacinto seem to be in a battle to try and close the gap on Beaumont. Banning's pack of up and coming runners paced by Sergio Nungaray keep improving. Rubioux is paced by super sophomore Mueen Ghoury who for the second straight meet ran under 16 minutes, and San Jacinto is led by the combo of Javier Sandoval and Kevin Vega. Beaumont is led my two time defending MVP Victor Delgado who rebounded from a third place finish to finish first with a 15:46 and was followed by his fellow seniors Tony Pietropaula and Kevin Layte.
On the girls side, Beaumont and San Jacinto continue to do battle for the league title, with Beaumont having the slight edge for now. The fight for the other two CIF spots is heating up between Tahquitz, Heritage and Rubidoux (whos Lucia Victorio finished in a fine 4th place). San Jacinto is paced by the duo of Celene Batrez and Monique Romero-Flores who continue to place in the Top 5-7 over all every meet. Beaumont is led by up and coming Ashlee Cervantes. She has ran 18:13 at Woodbridge this year and continued to impress with a 19:13 on a difficult (and hot) course.
Overall this league is showing vast improvements over the first two years of its existance and with the addition of three new schools, we all look to keep improving and making a name for ourselves!

Wednesday, October 8
Domination 2.0

What else can i say??? Ill be back later for a summary. Good job.

Monday, September 22
Woodbridge Results

To start off, it has been mentioned that the course was about 80 meters longer than before due to changes in the course, which means anywhere from 12 seconds (fast) to 25 seconds (slower) could be taken off of your time. But regardless, times were amazing.

On the guys side, the team school record was broken. Victor might just have broken Baker's school record if not for the course change. We had 26 guys under 20 minutes and 16 under 18 Minutes.

On the Girls Side, all school records were broken. Ashlee ran a 18:13 to break the old record by one minute! We also had 14 girls under 22 Minutes, thats just nuts.

The results have been added to the handouts page on the left side. These are the unofficial times that i had. Some are a second faster, some are a second slower.  Good Job

Tuesday, September 16

California Relays Day 2

Ok, its 10:16am and results are now in the handout section of the site (with splits included). Friday night was amazing, and Saturday was just plain HOT, literally! With temperatures on the track approaching 100 degrees, we did very well. When looking at the times, remember these are automatic times so they will be slower than what i told you at the meet. This meet was good experience for all of you (besides learning how to clap for long jumpers and seeing TJ Housmanzadeh and Chad Johnson). Now we get ready for our league meet and Invitational. When i am done with the league entries i will post those on here as well.

Friday, March 21

First Meet vs. ACA gets BHS off to good start

Today turned out to be a cold, damp morning, but allowed our kids to get the season started. With just under 100 athletes out, its going to take some time to get everyone to the level they want to be at, but today gives all of us a good idea where we are at. The day was highlighted on the boys side by Sean Rodgers with wins in the 100 and 200. Also wins in the distance races with Jayson Pamplona in the 800 (2:05), Sammy Romero in the 1600 (4:54) and Brandon Henschel in the 3200 (11:19) capped off a good first meet. On the girls side, Ashlee Cervantes set three (yes 3) school records today in the 800 (2:25), 1600 (5:26), and the 3200 (12:32). All athletes competed hard, and we are all looking forward to the rest of the year!!!! Check out Handouts on the left side here to see complete results from today. (including 4x400 splits).
