Bayside Little League: Umpires

UMPIRE CLASSES ARE UNDER WAY FOR THE 

2013 SEASON 

For all the umpires that have umpired before you will be required to make umpire meetings as well. There are going to be alot of handouts that will given.  

For each class print out the handouts and bring them with you.

 In the past umpires who umpired before were given the choice to attend or not. This year we are asking you to attend, it is in your best interest.

Umpires are assigned to games based on age. Because of the number of baseball games we require a large number of umpires. In most cases, these umpires are teen-agers who are either former Bayside Little League players or still play for Bayside and have a love for the game and our program.

We need to provide positive feedback to encourage these teenagers to become better umpires. We ask that players, managers, coaches, and parents be respectful of our umpires. In addition, the Board of Directors has no tolerance for managers, coaches and parents who berate or mistreat our umpires and will not hesitate to take action in situations that merit such action. Please focus your attention on encourage and cheering the teams on the field, not questioning or arguing an umpire calls.

 Umpires, Thank you for all of your hard work during the 2012 Bayside Little League season. All of us on the BLL Board, the managers, the coaches and especially the players appreciate all of your help this past season. We look forward to seeing all of you back out on the field in early 2013!
