History within the Northeast Youth Football League
Stillwater along with Hoosick Falls, Cambridge and Greenwich established the NYFL in 1993. It originated from the Mount Anthony Youth Athletic Association, a Bennington, Vt. league. The desire to develop our own program in New York prompted the coaches from the above four teams to unite and form a league that loosely resembled the high school Northern Adirondack League. The NYFL continues to grow with a senior tackle division for 5th & 6th grader, a junior tackle division for 3rd & 4th graders, flag division for Kindergarten through 2nd graders and cheeleading squads for each football division.
The success of this league and its individual programs is testimony to the people who work many long hours throughout the year to promote quality football in our communities.
