In Memory of Madeline |

Madeline Sandra Wise May 20, 1999 - April 25, 2007
The 2007-2008 Bardstown All-Star competitive season was very special. The season was dedicated to squad member Madeline Wise.
Madeline died on April 25, 2007 along with her mother, Melanie, her younger brother David and her baby sister Charlotte in an automobile accident.
Madeline was a member of the 2006-2007 Bardstown All-Star Cheerleading Squad and had made the 2007-2008 squad at tryouts on April 21, 2007.
Madeline loved to cheer. Not only did she cheer for the All-Stars, but she made up cheer routines for her classmates at her school. (Calvary Elementary School). She also cheered on the sidelines with the St. Catharine College Cheerleaders.
Madeline's determination, eagerness, passion, willingness and love for others is sought for by many in this world. We should all be fortunate enough to find this within ourselves.
Madeline is deeply missed and she and her family are on our minds each and every day!
We were chosen as a team,
to live out all our dreams.
We work hard every week,
and we never show defeat.
We stunt,we tumble and we cheer,
all without any fears.
There are angel eyes upon us,
guiding and pushing us through.
So to our precious Madeline...
This cheer season is for YOU!!!

The Permanent Remembrance!
On August 28, 2007, I was invited by Madeline's grandfather, Mr. Bill Moore to attend a special ceremony at the St. Catharine College Gym honoring Madeline, Melanie, David and Charlotte. No one except a very few at St. Catharine College knew what was going to take place that evening. It was the first event held in the gym for the school year and they dedicated it to the Wise and Moore families. Not only was it a verbal dedication, but it was also a permanent dedication. They recently replaced the gym floor and they had a rug covering a little section of the gym floor and they asked Madeline's father Curtis and her grandfather Bill Moore to each come over and remove the rug together. When they removed the rug you could see in the new wood floor, very close to where Madeline Wise always stood with the St. Catharine College Cheerleaders, a Megaphone, a Basketball and all of the initials of Madeline Wise, Melanie Wise, David Wise and Charlotte Wise. It just doesn't get much more special than that! Everyone there was so touched and many tears fell. Brittnia Case and myself attended that evening and we were very happy that we did!

The Shadowbox
If you are ever able to visit Fit Kids Sports Center (home of the Bardstown All-Stars) make sure you check out the awesome shadowbox that is in hanging on the wall in the lobby. It is our own personal and permanant tribute to Madeline Wise. Enclosed in the shadowbox is a uniform identical to Madeline's, a hairbow, Madeline's picture and the poem listed above. We were very fortunate to know Madeline and feel blessed to be able to honor and remember her in this special way. The comments that we have received about the shadowbox have been remarkable and we THANK YOU all! We hope everyone has a chance to see it.
