The BMWCC traces its roots to a loosely organized group of cyclists, who at one point carried the name "The Baltimore Peloton", that have ridden out of Deer Park Middle School in Randallstown, MD for nearly 30 years. The decision to formalize as a club came to fruition in April of 2008 at the annual Major Taylor Cycling Summit in Townsend, Tennessee.
