Baltimore Blitz experienced coaching staff:
Head Coach - Warren Prestwich
Graduate of University of New England, Armidale, Australia
Head Field Hockey Coach at Goucher College
I began playing field hockey as a 6 year old in Australia, and coached my first team when I was about 14 years old. I have been coaching for over 30 years. My coaching experience in America has been as an assistant coach at William Smith College in Geneva, N.Y., from 2000 through 2004, working primarily with goalkeepers. I was a member of the coaching staff when that team won the 2000 NCAA Division III National Championship. I graduated from the University of New England (UNE) in New South Wales, Australia, in 1989 with a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning. A three year field hockey standout at UNE, I was awarded a University Blue award in 1989. This award is presented annually to the most outstanding student-athletes of the University. My preferred playing position is goalkeeper and I was the starting goalkeeper of my University team when we won back to back Australian University National titles in 1988 and 1989, with 1988 being the first time UNE had ever made the final four. While my preferred position is goalkeeper, when the opportunity presents itself I like to play in the midfield.
