Was a three-time first team all-state selection at Ballard High School … in addition to her success on the field, Mockbee is a four-year academic all-state selection … was a three-time all-region selection and was selected as the team MVP in each of the past two seasons … a four-year starter for a program that doesn’t typically start freshmen … led the Bruins to four straight district titles and regional championships in 2005 and 2008 … totaled 679 strikeouts over four seasons, including 220 her senior season … posted a 0.89 ERA her sophomore season, a 0.76 ERA her junior season and a 0.56 ERA her senior season … batted .425 as a sophomore, .454 as a junior and .465 as a senior … also a four-year member of the varsity volleyball team … earned best offensive player award in 2005 and 2006 and most outstanding player award in 2007.

HIGH SCHOOL: A gifted player from Louisville, Ky., Kristina has also been awarded for her team’s efforts in the prep level. Hortert was named the Kentucky Gatorade Player of the Year, first-team all-state in her senior year, three-time first-team all-region, and first-team all-district all four seasons. Her Ballard High School team was four-time district champions, four-time regional champs and picked up second place in the state her senior year.
