To All Babylon Little League Parents and Players - Spring is right around the corner. Before you know it, boys and girls will be practicing on the Little League fields. Our fingers are crossed that we’ve seen our last snowfall and we can get busy getting the fields ready. Over the next month, you’ll see both Babylon Village and Little League staff working hard to get our field into top notch shape. Our priority this spring is Ralph Ave. Once again, Skip Gardner and his Village Staff along with Greg Sharp (Landtek Group) have stepped up to the plate and donated much of his time to try and bring the Ralph Ave fields into playing condition. It’s a big job but we’re confident it will be ready for Opening Day. Right Greg?
Field Maintenance is a big responsibility, one that shouldn’t fall to just a handful of people. All Little League players, moms and dads, should donate some time to insure safe and playable fields. Many Little Leagues require moms and dads to sign up to help. Babylon Little League is simply asking you. Please go to our website and send us an email to let us know you are available. We’ll add your name to the list and send you a quick note if and when you’re needed. Please do this today while you’re thinking of it. Thank you.
Reminder - if you have not had the opportunity to register your child to play, it’s not too late. Visit our website www.babylonlittleleague.org and download a registration form. If you can’t download the form, email us babylon.little.league@gmail.com and we’ll be sure to get you a form. Mail the form to PO Box 91 Babylon NY 11702. We must receive the form by March 15th in order to guarantee your child will play. Registrations received after the 15th will be accepted strictly on a space available basis.
Important – perhaps you know of a family in the village who has not been able to register their child due to these tough economic times. If so, please let them know that we have a Little League Scholarship Fund that may be used to help defray some or all registration costs. Everything will be held in strict confidence. As President of Babylon Little League, I will never turn away a child who has the desire to play. The time they spend on the fields each week with their friends is invaluable to the children and their parents. The thoughts, goals and happiness of our children are Babylon Little League’s highest priority. We want to give every boy and girl an opportunity to play.
