BEVERLY YOUTH SOCCER: KINDERGARTEN SOCCER Spring 2010

Components of the Beverly Youth Soccer Kindergarten Program: Each team will have 10-12 players on the roster. In the developmental stages of soccer small sided teams, smaller fields, and more coach attention increases a player's ability to learn new skills and techniques.

General Information Each Saturday players will meet at their designated mini field. We will begin each session with a stretch and team activities, we will progress to teaching the fundamental skills of the day and we will end the first 3 sessions on a fun soccer skills game and team cheer. During the 4th week we will still run the session with stretching, skills development, and we will begin to play mini-games (teams will play each other in games). We do not keep score, we celebrate good plays, we can cheer for goals, but really our focus as parents, coaches, and spectators are to encourage each player to have fun and learn this great game. The system of practicing skills and techniques through fun games and then moving to small sided games enhances the skill level and confidence of players.
