CLOSED grade 7/8 - teams have been notified for 2017

Our 7/8 Grade Field Hockey Teams (LIMITED PLACEMENT, only 2 teams) offers an opportunity to play on Saturdays and/or Sundays in the Fall with other Clubs that go past 6th grade (limited number of Clubs/Tournaments, makes it difficult for scheduling to have more than 2 teams at this age level).  If a player plays on their School Team they have practice/games Mondays through Fridays, but not on weekends. Outside Clubs have players that want to play in extra games/tournaments on the weekends.  BYC offers the Garnet Valley and CYO Field Hockey teams these opportunities to play on a BYC Travel Team on weekends only.

NOTE: Practice is a necessary component of learning this sport, developing skills and teamwork and playing hockey SAFELY. Please recognize that a commitment to practice is important and players must develop a level of safety before coaches can give them the opportunity to play in games.

If you are selected to play on a Tournament team, it is expected that you will attend all practices, games and/or tournaments in their entirety.  In fairness to those players who do attend all practices and games and the team coaches, players who miss practices, games or tournaments without good reason (school, religion, family or health) may lose playing time or their position on the team.

Game Summary (Preliminary Game schedule will be updated as soon as our Fall schedule has been finalized and will be updated in the Calendar on left.  Times will be updated as field space is confirmed).

The mission of BYC Field Hockey is to teach the game of Field Hockey in an environment of safety, respect and fun.

We strive to:

  • Build a player's confidence in learning field hockey skills.
  • Develop a sense of teamwork, fair play and respect for opponents, officials, coaches, teammates, and self.
  • Develop character values that will beneft today's players in later years.
  • Provide our players with the appropriate level of coaching.

Players will learn the value of teamwork, determination, commitment AND have a great time playing Field Hockey!
