2008 Fall Ball
fall_ball.gif
Bellingham Youth Baseball Inc. "BYBI" will once again offer our FALL BALL program beginning Saturday September 6 and running through Saturday, October 4 with October 11 serving as a rain date.
THIS PROGRAM IS NOT A PROGRAM FOR ALL-STARS, TRAVEL OR AAU TEAMS!  Been there, done that.
What this program offers is an opportunity for kids who want to play baseball as a supplement to some fall sport or for those kids who simply enjoy playing baseball and want to play a few more organized games.  Teams generally do not practice and games are a hard and fast 2 hour time limit whether it be 5 innings or 10 innings of baseball.  They show up on Saturdays for a little backyard baseball with umpires.  Coaches are encouraged to let kids try new positions and have fun.  Players are provided hats & t-shirts.
Age Groupings are determined based on a players age as of April 30, 2008.  Their spring baseball age!     NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!!!!
Divisions
Masters     14, 15, 16        Generally capped at 4 teams, space is limited
Seniors      12, 13              Generally capped at 6 teams including 2 from Bellingham
Our most popular program b/c 12 year olds move up to the Big Field
Majors      10, 11              Traditional Little League rules/format; individual sign-ups
Juniors       8, 9                  Player pitch league; modified rules.  Individual sign-ups, complete teams not welcome.
Mites         6, 7                  Machine Pitch league.  Individual sign-ups, complete teams not welcome.
Forms are available. Registrations close out on or about August 17 so as to allow time to gather coaches, draft team, coordinate uniforms and make schedules.
Have more questions?  Contact our Fall Ball Director Kevin Gavin at gavin4586@comcast.net (email preferred)
Finally, if you have to ask about scheduling around soccer, please know up front that you will have conflicts.  Despite our best efforts, we have NEVER been able to make a schedule that does not conflict on multiple weekends and it is not fair to have too many kids one week and not enough the next.

No Practice Area and Concession Stand Coverage
announce
The area outside of Tuttle Field, in front of the batting cages is a NO PRACTICE ZONE! Please do not practice in front of the batting cage as there are many people enjoying the games (Tuttle and Richardson)and practicing does impose a danger to these spectators thus this is designated as NO PRACTICE ZONE!

Coaches ... please return your completed concession stand coverage schedules to the concession stand. We need to be able to plan ahead for unfilled slots due to the buyouts.

Getting the Word Out!
Every effort is made to get the word out to as many people and by as many methods as possible. In addition to this website, we distribute over 1,200 registration announcements through the Bellingham School System (K - 8) and request that an announcement be made at the high school. We have requested that announcements be placed in the Bellingham Bulletin, Boston Globe - Globe West edition, Milford Daily News and Woonsocket Call. Cable 8 has graciously listed our registration dates as has the Community Bulletin Board at the Mobil Station in North Bellingham. No one can say that we did not try our best!
