Profile: Oliver Twelvetrees will take of the reigns of the Barton County Community College men’s soccer team, replacing Joe Burger, who left to become an assistant coach at Drake University. Twelvetrees will become just the 2nd coach in the 6-year history of the program. Burger started the program in 2001 and guided Barton to a 63-30-11 record in those 5 seasons.

Twelvetrees comes to Barton from Wayne State (Neb) College, where he was the head coach of the women’s soccer team. Twelvetrees spent two seasons at Wayne State, guiding the team to one of its best records ever this past season. His 1st year at Wayne, Twelvetrees led the Wildcats to a 6-14 mark then posted the school’s 1st winning record in 4 years this season with a 11-9-3 record. His 2005 team was listed among the Top 15 most improved schools in the NCAA.

Prior to his stint at Wayne State, Twelvetrees was an assistant at Bemidji State University (Minn) for two seasons, also an NCAA Division II school. There the school broke the record for most wins in a season.

Twelvetrees is originally from Whales and played in Europe. He graduated from the University of Brighton in the United Kingdom in 1999. He came to the US in 2000 to serve as a coaching director of a premier junior soccer league in Long Island, NY. He earned his Master’s at Bemidji State in 2004. Twelvetrees has also founded and coached several youth soccer programs during his time in the US.
