Steve Rosenthal, Head Coach Ballistic SO '02 Boys
Steve was born in California and began playing soccer at the age of eight in the recreational league of A.Y.S.O, until the age of twelve. He then continued to play for various clubs in the Coast Soccer League (C.S.L.) until age fifteen. Steve continued playing soccer through high school, and co-captained his junior varsity team as a freshman. His sophmore year he was selected to join the varsity squad.
After high school Steve joined the Air Force and began playing for the base teams, wherever he was assigned. However it was not until 1990 when Steve would get the opportunity to take his playing to the next level. It was then that he played for the Bitburg city team, in Bitburg Germany. Playing in an all german league, Steve was one of the only english speaking players on the team, and the only American. Here is where his true love of the game developed.
His coaching career began in 1999 when Steve volunteered to head coach his daughters U-6 soccer team, with National Youth Sports (N.Y.S.). His first three years coaching, Steve's team was undefeated, as he continued building and concentrating on the fundementals.
In the spring of 2002 Steve brought his entire team to the Nevada South Youth Soccer League(NVSYSL). However he quickly realized his team needed to step up to the next level. Unfortunately most of his players were not willing and the team disbanded.
Later in 2002 Steve took a position as the head coach of a new U-7 girls' team, with Dynamo Vegas Futbol Club. He quickly set his sights on this new team and came out fighting, with the addition of a new player the daughter of Adam Mallas.
Steve joined forces with Adam in 2005 when he was asked to join the coaching staff for Vegas Vengeance Futbol Academy (VVFA). However, he seperated himself from the organization due to internal problems with the administration. Steve is now the head coach of the Ballistic SO '02 Boys team (Ballistic's first boys team).
