Be sure to check out "My site News" and the "Sponsors" page to the left. There is important information from Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District on their requirments for your player. The involvment of our sponsors makes your player's team the best. Be sure to thank our sponsors for their support.
We operate our baseball program under the umbrella of Junior Baseball of Oregon (JBO). JBO rules are the baseball rules used by Oregon High Schools and/or as defined by the "National Federation of State High School Associations." JBO does have minor modifications based on age and skill level. The modifications are in place to insure the safety, complete participation and development of every player in learning the game of baseball.
When comparing our "baseball" program to other leagues, we are playing the game as it was intended to be played. We do not pretend to play the game by using softball rules. We are one of the many grass roots youth baseball organizations across the county teaching our children to play real baseball. Having fun playing and learning baseball is what we are all about.
All teams, of every age and skill group, stay together throughout the entire season. We believe in the positive aspects of each team competing as a team and earning the right to be in the Northwest Championship. We do not subscribe to the model other leagues use in focusing their entire efforts in developing a selected all star team. Our league efforts and funds go towards the success of every player and every team. Our player and team positive JBO progam provides a way for every player no matter what their individual skill to be a champion.
See the JBO two minute video by clicking --> " What is JBO Baseball?" It may take about 30 seconds when down loading for the first time. A special thanks to Phil Cassidy of www.shootmyvideo.com and Junior Baseball of Oregon, Inc. in providing this video. You need a QuickTime Media Player " It is free.
