Swim Team 

The Big Spring Aquatic Club (BSAC) will begin its summer swim season on Monday, May 20, 2013. The team is made up of boys and girls from kindergarten through high school. We compete against other swim teams in the area. We welcome all new and returning members! 

Prerequisite to join the team: Your child must be able to swim the length of the pool Freestyle and Backstroke unassisted or have passed level III Red Cross swim instruction. 

Practice Times: 

After School practice: Monday May 20 - Friday, May 31   Monday - Friday 3:15 - 5:15 p.m. 

Evening Practices:  Monday, May 20 - Friday, May 31     Monday - Friday 5:15 - 7:00 p.m.

Monday, June 3 - July 18  Monday - Thursday   5:15 - 7:00 p.m.

Morning Practices

(for ages 12+): Monday, June 10 - Friday, July 19     Mon., Wed., Fri. 6:00 -7:30 a.m.

All swimmers are expected to attend at least 3 practices per week. 

All swimmers must be accompanied by an adult until all swimmers are in the pool.

June 22 - Home - Central York Aquatic Club 

June 29 - Away - Cumberland Valley Aquatic Club 

July 2 - Away - Carlisle Invite (Pay for events) 

July 6 - Away - Camp Hill Aquatic Club 

July 17 - Away - Shippensburg Aquatic Club 

July 20 - Home - Championships (Must swim in 3 Dual meets) 

July 21 - Away - All Stars - Central York Aquatic Club (Top 16 swimmers and Top 8 relays) 

July 27 - Away - Mid Caps Hershey Aquatic Club (Top 8 from All Stars move on plus Top 4 relays) 

Mini Swim Team 

If your child loves the water but is not quite able to swim the length of the pool unassisted, then our mini team may be for them. They will be learning the four competitive swim strokes and how to dive off the block. Mini swimmers will even participate in all meets if they are ready. 

Practice Times: 5:15 - 7:00 Monday, May 20 – Friday, May 24 then 2 or 3 nights 

per week from 5:15 - 6:30 until July 18. Days will be announced at the parent meeting. 

How to Join 

Registration: You must register your child to be a part of BSAC during our open registration time Tuesday, May 7th thru Thursday, May 9th anytime between 5:15 - 7:00 p.m. at the Big Spring High School Pool. If you absolutely cannot make it during that time, please contact Heather Magee at hmagee@pa.net or call 776-4562 to make other arrangements. Due to insurance regulations, no child will be allowed to swim unless they are registered and paid in full. 

Our swimsuit sizing kit will be available at registration so if you would like to have your children sized, please bring them along. 

Costs to join BSAC (Swimming) 

1st swimmer = $110 (including high school swimmers for the summer season) 

2nd swimmer from same family = $80 

3rd + swimmers from same family = $55 each 

Mini Team Swimmers = $55 each 

Every BSAC family is responsible for a single $30 snack bar fee to be paid at registration. 

Registration costs may be paid by cash or check. 

1-Week Trial-- If you are new to BSAC and want to take advantage of our 1-week trial, you still must come to open registration. The cost of the trial is $20 and will be applied to the cost of joining the swim team or mini team if you decide to join at the end of the one week trial period. $20 is NOT refundable.
