Thursday, November 12 Sponsors Needed! There are no more hard working volunteers than the parents/guardians, family, and friends of the Belmont/Redwood Shores Youth Softball Association. Our accomplishments on the field were supported by our local sponsors who so generously gave so that we could help young ladies become more than just softball players. We need your help to keep this running. Your sponsorship helps provide us the tools to continue our mentorship of these young ladies. To be a sponsor of our organization just go over to the “register and sign-up” link to your left and scroll down to the “Sponsor Section.” To see who has continued to be loyal sponsors, click on the “Sponsor” link to the left. These young ladies and their families will not forget your support.Sunday, August 16 Congratulations to our 10B and 12B All-Stars!!!
Ladies and Gentlemen of the League, please put your hands together to help us congratulate and celebrate the accomplishments of our 12B and 10B All-stars at the Western Nationals held in Salem, Oregon. These amazing young ladies gave up 2 months out of their summer to represent Belmont around the state and the western United States. Not only did they represent us, they furthered the amazing reputation that our softball community has built over the years. The 12U’s had an exceptional summer season. Winning 4 tournaments and never finishing lower than 2nd the 12’s capped off regional play by winning the NorCal Regional Championships in Sunnyvale. While their success and dominance regionally is evidence alone for their tremendous ability, it is another thing to step up to the competition they would face at the Western Nationals tournament. Western Nationals pits the best against the best and our girls were up to the task. They more than did well. The 12’s finished 13th out of 58 teams. Outstanding! We are more than proud of these young ladies and want to CONGRATULATE all of them. The 10B’s were not to be outdone. While this is a team of excellent players they demonstrated to be an even greater force than their individual parts would have you believe. In six tournaments the 10’s finished 1st twice, 2nd twice. They qualified for Nationals by finishing fourth at the NorCal Regionals. At this point the season was considered a success and going to Nationals was icing on the cake. But no one on the team was satisfied. The team went to Nationals with something to prove. And the team from little Belmont did just that. Playing against the best in the West (maybe in the country!) our girls finished 13th out of 42 teams. TREMENDOUS GIRLS, JUST TREMENDOUS!! For both of these teams the coaches, parents, and fans who were with them the whole way should also be congratulated and thanked for there unselfish efforts this summer. All of us are winners because of your efforts. To all of you reading this, please make sure you tell these girls congratulations and thank you. They will be our representatives for a positive future.
