League Members,

I hope everyone is prepared for a busy month. When the weather clears, we will shift gears to a lot of softball. I say bring it on! We appreciate everyone's patience and flexibility to ensure the girls get the full experience. We had a productive league meeting last night and resolved a significant amount of details for the balance of the season.

• Picture Day/Hit-a-Thon; April 15th, Belmont Sports Complex (Center Field), per schedule attached and posted on the website calendar; BRSYSA.org
  
  • Bring completed picture order forms or simply visit www.shootingstarsphoto.com, select ORDER BEFORE PHOTO DAY, sign up (or log in) and enter your access code: sm216012. Be sure to print your online Proof of Purchase and bring it with you on Photo Day. Each player needs a completed Order Form or online Proof of Purchase to be photographed
  • Bring Hit-a-thon collection sheets (attached).
  • All players participate in Hit-a-thon regardless of collections. Prizes (eye black/water bottles) and raffle participation for collection levels starting at $25 and $51. All players will register best of three hits off tee for personal and team scores. Prizes for Players and teams per division for results and collections.
  • This is our one fundraiser for the year and it includes an easy fun event for the girls so give it all you've got this week. If you have any matching opportunities, centralize your collections and get your team's contribution matched. They count toward your teams contribution.
• 8U Second Half Rules in effect going forward
  
  • Teams will begin keeping score, counting outs, putting away the tee and counting strike outs as teams begin the transition to playoff format.
• All Stars - 8U
  
  • AllStars for 8U will include tryouts for a "Blast" competitive team(s) and a draft for the balance of interested players on "Xplosion" development team(s) based on available coaching.
  • Tryouts will occur Saturday, Apr. 28th, 4:00pm McDougal. All interested players are welcome and encouraged to attend. Team selections will occur immediately following tryouts.
  • AllStar Parent information with more details will be provided later this week. Tournaments; 5/25, 6/9, 6/16 (All) and 6/30 (Blast, others optional). Cost est. under $150.
• All Stars - 10U/12U/14U
  
  • We are currently targeting teams for 10B/C, 12B/C, 14B
  • Parent Information Meeting; Sun. April 22, 6:30pm., Location TBD.
  • Tryouts 10U/12U; Friday, May 4th, Belmont Sports Complex; 10U 4:30, 12U 6:30
  • Tryouts 14U; Sunday, May 6th, BSC, 9:30am
  • Team Selection will occur Sunday, May 6th at 4:00pm.
  • Current Tournament Selection; 5/25, 6/2, 6/9, 6/16, 6/23(NorCals), 7/6, 8/1-5(Nat'ls)
• Season End Picnic/8U Championship Game/Awards - Sunday, May 6th, Belmont Sports Complex
  
  • 8U Championship Game will be hosted at the Complex; 12:00pm.
  • Season Awards (tournaments, hit-a-thon) will be presented at the conclusion of 8U Championship game; Est. 1:30pm.
  • League Picnic; 11:30-3:30; Belmont Sports Complex Outfield Teams to host own potlucks, grilling and beverages
  • Teams will drop off gear and receive season medals to be distributed
  • Teams are encouraged to use the event as their year end party (coach gifts, etc).
