Hello Everyone,

What a great Opening Day!  Whether your team won or not you have to admit the weather was great and the girls were getting a chance to play ball!

Again, I want to thank all the people who were involved in helping me get stuff together. 
And especially those parents who showed off their newly found “Field Maintenance” skills.  I did not get to see all the games out at McDougal, but what I did see I was not only impressed with the girls play but also the parents who ran out between games to clear the fields, filled and smoothed holes, and dragged the field.  Excellent job!!!

Well, I am happy the season is now on its way but that does not mean that all the jobs that need to be done are completed.  We need help with many other things that are happening in the league.  We want and need you to be a part of our greater family of volunteers.  We have a “League Meeting” this Tuesday, March 9^th at 7:30pm at the Belmont Sports Complex.  This is your opportunity to get involved with the league and help us do as good a job as we can to give these girls an opportunity to play the best they can.  I hope to see you there.

A couple of other announcements need to be mentioned.  First, as I mentioned at the Opening Day festivities, Picture Day is March 21^st.  The place will be McDougal Field and the times for each team is being determined as we speak.  A make up date is also being determined.

Finally, I have to mention a couple of errors that were made on my part that I want to set straight.  Two sponsors were gracious enough to become part of our league.  We made the mistake of misplacing their names on the teams they requested which was disappointing to them, their children and to me.   “Ah Sam Florist” and “Dr. Wench” were very good to sponsor our girls and I want to encourage all of our parents to please support these two wonderful establishments.  I want to publicly apologize and let all of our supporters know that we are working to make sure this does not happen again.  This is not to forget all of our wonderful sponsors, which you can view on our website and soon see displayed out at the fields where your daughters play.

YES!!!! WE NEED SPONSORS!!!!

There are no more hard working volunteers than the parents/guardians, family, and friends of the Belmont/Redwood Shores Youth Softball Association.  Our accomplishments on the field were supported by our local sponsors who so generously gave so that we could help young ladies become more than just softball players.  But, we still need more SPONSORS to keep this running!
