Well folks, I am excited to announce that  it is time to get geared up for another season of Girls fastpitch Softball here in Belmont.  Our last year was one of tremendous achievement.  Several of our recreation league teams were champions in their divisions of the Tri-City League.  Our all-star teams not only competed strongly in area tournaments, but our 10B and 12B Blast teams represented California at Western Nationals (See league news for details).  For the first time our 8 & under  all-star teams competed in multiple tournaments and had the time of their young lives.

We want your daughter and you to be a part of this great experience.  Registration for the 2010 season is now open for all divisions.  Online registration is available by clicking on the registration tab to the left.  It is fast, convenient, and will put you on the email list for upcoming events and announcements within the league.  Also, remember to check this website often for announcements and updates on all things Softball.

You can also register at one of our walk-in registration dates listed below.  While online registering is convenient, registering at our walk-in dates will offer some special perks.  Check these out!

ü  At walk-in registration, a representative/commissioner will be present from each division (6& under, 8& under, 10 & under, 12 & under, and 14 & under).  You can ask specific questions and get guidance about your daughters (and your) participation within the division and league.  Also, many of our present players, as well as players from some of the local high school and college softball teams will be there in uniform to act as ambassadors.  They will talk to your girls about the fun and joy they get from playing.  (They may even talk about how much they learned!)

ü  Get information on the many ways your family can participate and be a part of our league family!  Find out about coaching, managing, sponsoring a team, and/or being a part of any of the different committees within the league.

ü  Get information about teaching specific skills and goals for your daughter from some of our great coaches.  Also, get information about the league sponsored skill sessions in hitting, Pitching, Fielding, etc.

ü  As part of this year’s walk-in registration we have organized a softball “Garage Sale.”  Many of the young ladies that have grown-up in our league have outgrown their equipment.  Much of this equipment is hardly used.   We would like to provide these items to others in the league that can use and appreciate them.  Most, if not all of the items are free to those who want them.  This is a great opportunity for you to save some money on equipment, as well as have Coaches and Players help you choose the appropriate items for your daughter. 

ü  Last, but not least, for those individuals who register during the walk-in dates a special raffle will be held.  Two lucky families will be chosen to have their league fees paid for!  Again, this is only offered to the walk-in registers

Regardless of how you registered you are all invited to the walk-in festivities.  The “Walk-In” dates are listed below:

November, 21^st  at the Belmont Sports Complex, from 9am to 3pm.

Or

December, 12^th at the Belmont Sports Complex, from 9am to 3pm.

Also, make sure to check out this website regularly for updates on the league and other bits of news regarding softball.  And one last thing, mark on your calendar that league meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month and are open to all.  Please come and be a part of our family.

There are no more hard working volunteers than the parents/guardians, family, and friends of the Belmont/Redwood Shores Youth Softball Association.  Our accomplishments on the field were supported by our local sponsors who so generously gave so that we could help young ladies become more than just softball players.  We need your help to keep this running.  Your sponsorship helps provide us the tools to continue our mentorship of these young ladies.
