Welcome to the home page of
BRONX REBELS YOUTH FOOTBALL!!
The Runnin' Rebels made some noise in 2006!!
WOW !! What a season. It is over, but not without some pain, as the Jr. Pros lost to the Queens Falcons in a defensive gem, losing 12-6. Let's give it to the Falcons, as they were the only team in the Jr. Pro division to shut out the vaunted Rebel Wing-T, and hold the magnificent trifecta of QB Jason Reyes, TE/WR Angel Pagan, and SE Duray Gardner to 40 yds of passing offense, and hold our running game to less than the normal two hundred or so yards per game. Nice job to Coach Mike as the Falcons battle the NYC Gators for the East Coast Football Championship game this weekend at the house of Evander Tiger Power and Bronx Rebels Pride - Tiger Stadium.
The remainder of the (GYFCA) Gun Hill Youth Football & Cheerleading Alliance was successful as well. Our Mighty Mites won their first game ever at home in front of a stupendous crowd. (Talk about home field advantage) Coach Jose Tavares, led them to a good season. The Midget team, led by Coaches Derrick and Mike, with a late start rallied and made the playoffs. Even finding a new running back that the program can cultivate into a serious high school prospect in the next year or so. And of course, what can be said about that Pee Wee team, Coached in committee by Coaches Ray Baxter, Chino Vazquez, Jose Tavares, and parent coach Chris Diaz - making it to the Big Apple Football Metro Division Championship game. We lost a few players due to academic reasons, and may not have won the game, but the kids had a lot of fun along the way.
Our program serves the youth of the Northeast Bronx - ages 5 thru 19. Our rosters are now open for the our second Spring season in the Jr. ECFL. We are looking for a repeat of our exciting Spring of 2006, and this time win the National Championship. The Rebels have returned to the dominance we enjoyed in the late eighties and early nineties. We are signing players that want to be a part of something special, and are disciplined. If you can endure our tough disciplined practice sessions, you can play Rebel Football.

The Rebels were contacted by the New York Giants and were informed of the following -
The Giants are are offering week long camps for kids in nine communities throughout New York and New Jersey. The camps are community based so more kids will have access to the program. Athletic and skill development, life skill education, and of course having fun are the focus of the program. The camps are led by professional educators and college coaches with supplemental instruction from New York Giant heroes such as Bill Ard, Carl Banks, Keith Elias, George Martin, and Sean Landeta, to name a few.
The Giants were gracious enough to offer two scholarship opportunities to deserving players on the Mighty Mite or Pee Wee levels. The coaches will choose those players and contact them very soon. Velocity Sports works with the Rebels to prepare for the 2005 season.
Velocity Sports Performance of New York provided a free speed and conditioning clinic for all Alliance players in 2005. Our players were taught the same drills and techniques that are used by collegiac and professional athletes to improve performance. This session gave a great introduction to those players that never participated in youth sports. We would like to graciously thank Mr. Scott Palasky and his team of coaches for their time and effort for the clinic. Contact Scott's team at 212.593.FAST(3278)
